I had a mid-sized emotional breakdown when I left (sorry Tyler). Excellent place.

So so so much fun. Great food at a really reasonable price. Drinks aren’t too expensive either. Beautiful location and tubing is just the best

An absolutely beautifull place in a forest location right by a river which is great for swimming, and a beach to sunbathe on. This is very much a cool boutique hostel, in beautiful gardens. Humming birds and howler monkeys to wake up to. Staff are super friendly and speak English. The food is second to none, the bar beautifully designed and a cool and sociable place to meet fellow travellers. Lots on offer to do including the must-do tubing down the river, wildlife tours, moped hire. Go there!

What an incredible place! I spent over 6 days there, after extending to be there for their monthly event. Totally worth the travel, money and hangover. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at over my 9 month Central American journey 👌🏽

Despite a lengthy power cut and a minor flooding due to a huge thunder storm, I can’t reiterate enough the professionalism and pragmatism displayed by the fantastic staff. They turned what could have been a very difficult evening into the best one of our trip so far. No hostel quite like it.

Can El Rio live up to the hype? Yes, totally. Great staff, a really social crowd, happy vibe, good activities, lovely food. For fun in the jungle, El Rio delivers. Just don't expect to sleep too much 😁!

Our stay at El Rio Hostel was super nice. The place on the river is just beautiful. The beds were comfy, the food and especially breakfast super good, but expensive. I wouldn't say that it's the best hostel in Colombia as they say, for that a pool and some more things are missing like nicer bathrooms and maybe sometimes a little but more south american music, for a hostel in South America, but it was actually a super nice stay.

Amazing hostel - couldn't fault the facilities, food, events organised. Just a shame about the type of British traveller it attracts... still had a great time though

El Rio was overall a nice hostel. It's quite Americanized in the sense that it doesn't so much feel like you're in Colombia. We were missing the reggaeton music. There is no wifi but it was kind of nice to get away but also a bit inconvenient. Tubing was fun and they have lots of cool other activities to do and it is close to other fun towns and locations too.
