Amazing little hidden gem on the Sleat peninsula! We loved our stay here, we had beautiful views across to the mainland, easy access to a tiny, hidden beach and enjoyed all the flowers out in bloom, and the peace and quiet. Fiona was lovely and a very knowledeable host, and the hostel was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The food items to purchase which made cooking easy and convenient, and the living room area with the woodburning fire was very cosy when the rain came in. 5 stars!

A beautiful, cosy place to stay! Great facilities (clean kitchen, laundry, and lovely shower AND a gorgeous fire and heating throughout). Fiona was so welcoming and helpful, it felt like a home away from home. We wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed at the property on 4th August 2020. Mr. Marx was so welcoming and helpful that as soon as we entered he made sure we get comfortable and were given all the facilities. We loved the property, the views and the hospitality by Mr. Marx so much that we wanted to extend our stay by a day but unfortunately the booking was full. We would definitely recommend this property if you are going Isle of Skye. I will visit again if I come back to Scotland again :)

Exceptionally lovely view over a loch with ponies in a field overlooking a mountain. Staff brilliant: welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had a private room and a well-stocked kitchen shared with just one other room. All very nice, just to note that the walls are very thin and you can hear every noise; thankfully, on our second night, new people arrived who were actually considerate travellers so it was fine.

This is a really a good Hostel for living specially in this pandemic. The host was excellent. It is a farm house and you can see horse and can listen the sound of waterfall. Location is litte bit far away from the armadale ferry terminal. If you walk it will take 1 hour. I am sure if the weather on your side, you enjoy your walking because you will look natural beauty. It will take 8 minutes by car, 14 minutes by bus, and 20 minutes by bicycle. But public bus has very limited trip.

We felt reassured that all the necessary covid precautions were in place with separate kitchen equipment for each room & everywhere very clean. The host was very welcoming & informative. We loved the chance to feed the ponies. There is a lovely view from the front of the hostel. The room was basic but warm & comfortable.

It is an excellent value for money! Although it is not central in the island and it is not a walkable place. The rooms and shared spaces were clean and organised. The decoration was simple, but cozy and comfortable enough. The place seems like a farm house converted to hostel, which gives a pleasant sensation and you may be lucky enough to see the animals from neighbour farms.

Max was a very welcoming host and the location is great for motorbikers. Located in a quieter area of Skye you definitely get your peace and a stunning view. May not be so practical if you are not willing to drive 20km to the next biggest town.

Security of the chalet non existent, no key to lock the front door to the chalet when being the only occupant. No sound insulation between my room and kitchen / hallway, light showing at the top of the walls where the plasterboard wasn't sealed. Foam filler around front door not covered or finished and carpet tiles over the wooden base boards of the building with no insulation and not fixed in place, also the same in my room. Black mould in the shower stall. Good shower and views!
