I have stayed at many hostels all across the world and Generator Belfast is EXCEPTIONAL! Easy check in and check out (electronically), fantastic location, facilities, atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, comfortable and modern dorms, good breakfast and plenty of entertainment. I highly recommend this hostel and a special shout out to Victor from Brazil who was very friendly and helpful. Generator is setting the standard in modern, high quality hosteling.

Staff were super friendly and perfectly located. Though it is a big hostel and may feel a bit unfriendly, we still had a great time and met some other travelers to have a good time with. Definitely recommend.

Great location next to lots of bars and restaurants. Mad yokes and Jameson distillery are a must in the area. Could improve by putting up privacy curtains on bunks and paper towels in bathroom.

    Very Good

The hostel felt like a very safe to stay as a solo female traveler. The lounges are also really nice and the bed are comfortable. Definitely more of a hotel vibe than a hostel vibe. Everything costs extra (luggage storage, breakfast, etc). The bathroom in the dorm room wasn't the cleanest, but that can be expected from a place of this size

    Very Good

Location is good and common area is nice. Room with 6 people gets really humid and uncomfortable, small window doesn’t let in enough air. Showers weren’t cleaned properly, no kitchen area & quite expensive compared to other hostels I’ve stayed at

    Good

Decent place to stay, however, scanning keycards to enter is pretty pointless when everyone just hangs around outside waiting for you to open the door and then storms in after you. In terms of cleanliness, much was to be desired. Sheets had stains, 2/5 showers weren’t functional on level 2, and in one case, 1 of the functional showers had a giant turd in the drain. Leaving 2 showers total for all the rooms to use. Everything else was fine, Dublin is expensive and this helped save money.

Not a bad hostel. Staff extraordinarily slow. We were standing at the desk, had given over our identification, paid, and yet it still took half an hour to simply check us in.

I suffered aggression from a Generator Dublin employee. Even though I tried to contact the manager many times he was never on site and despite the severity of the situation, never attempted to contact me. Unfortunately, there is a character limit in the reviews here but the situation was abhorrent. Worst, I met the employee walking in the street and he physically threatened me in front of dozens of people. Generator wants to pass the image of a progressive place but hires troglodytes!

It is not worth it. It’s really expensive for what they are offer. I have been in a room where I couldn’t sleep in 3 days, one of my roommates was snoring during the hole night and everything was so messy. The bathroom stank and it was really dirty, no one came to clean it in four days. Absolutely not recommend it.
