Fantastic hostel BUT no recycling that I could see and no kitchen for self-catering. Self-catering, to me, s one of the characteristics that distinguishes a hostel from a hotel. All else excellent.

This was my first time staying at a Generator hostel, and the brand obviously knows what it's doing. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. When we ended up with a problem guest in our dorm, they dealt with the situation quickly and professionally. The beds are comfortable, and all have lights and outlets. It's worth noting that the "ensuite" bathrooms are a bit of a joke, as they're nearly too tiny to use, but there are additional bathrooms in the hallways.

The Hostel is just next to the train station, super clean, quiet and comfortable beds. Big lockers! Hostel is big and pretty difficult to meet lots of people. They also have a lot of school groups! Wifi could be better

Overall this place is good. The bedrooms were clean and the bed was comfortable for the 2 nights me and my friend were there. The only problem I had was the toilet and shower rooms were both very tiny. I felt like I had no room to move in them. I think this place is good for a few nights stay, but any more days I don't think I could have handled. Would I stay there again? Yes.

It's a well furnished hostel, quite clean. All beds have plug and reading lights. Rooms are a bit small and packed. The "ensuite" toilets and showers are ridiculously small. A bit disappointing. It's like the Ryanair of Hostels: you pay extra to store your bag, to rent a towel, you can't bring your own food or drink in... Finally, the speed of the wifi varies from slow to embarassing.

Hotel pretending to be a hostel. Positives: It's next door to the central bus and train station. Beds are very comfortable and the hostel overall is very clean. Negatives: No atmosphere, would not recommend for solo traveller. Only one lift for the entire place, you waited 10 minutes every morning to use it. Some days neither worked. Kitchen wasn't open as chef was ill. Have to pay for locker use. If you're over 1.80m you will not fit in the shower either.

I had a bad experience, the bed wasn't made, the mattress didnt look clean, they charge for everything, including the towel, didn't look they care about sustainability, I felt this hostel is about generating money but not experiences.. They don't care about the customer at all, also sending too many emails before arrival... In general not a good experience, they only good thing was the location. I stayed 3 nights before at Superbude and loved it, but Generator it's not the place to go.

The Generator Hostel was okay. It was located very close to the Hamburg Hbf station but everything else is a bit of a walk or metro ride. Everything there also costs money as they do not have free luggage storage, they have very slow free WiFi or €4/24hr premium WiFi, and charge a lot for the bed that you get.

This hostel was in an area that didn’t feel safe, a lot of people begging, drinking, however it was close to the station. The room it self was ok, toilet and shower was unbelievably small and had no space to get dressed. It was a busy hostel but also noisy. We were disappointed with our overall stay and wouldn’t return
