Overview

If you fancy being in a stylish neighbourhood surrounded by hotels, then choose Geneva Hostel. We're in a peaceful area, with stunning views of Mont Blanc and the city's sparkly lake from the outdoor terrace. We've got a 24-hour reception and no curfew, so you can turn up at any time and make the most of freebies like breakfast, bed linen and Wi-Fi. We also have a cosy TV room for (rare) nights in. Grab one of our complimentary city maps to get exploring.

Location

We're about 2km from the postcard-perfect Old Town, known as Vieille Ville in French, with its museums and chocolate shops. You'll get a free public transport card when you stay with us, so you can easily make your way here. If you want to get to Geneva railway station, it's only an 11-minute walk away. We've got a couple of green spaces around the corner as well – including the pretty Parc de La Perle du Lac. If you're coming to the city by plane, you can get a train to the main station, and then tram No 15 to Butini to reach us.

Rooms and Dorms

Feeling lazy? Ride up to your mixed, male or female-only dorm using the elevator. You'll have a locker included to make storing your stuff easy. If you want space to yourself, we've got private rooms. Some have shared bathrooms and some are en-suite – so you can take your pick!

Extras and activities

When you're hungry, you can order food in the café-restaurant or warm up a ready meal in the microwave. We've also got vending machines for on-the-go snacks. Grab a mate for a couple of games of foosball or pick up a book from the mini library and chill in the common room – ideal with a cuppa (just use the tea and coffee making facilities). Mid-way through a backpacking trip? We're guessing your wardrobe might need a refresh! Get your stuff washed in the on-site laundry facilities.

This was a great hostel to stay at! The check in and check out processes were super simple and the hostel provided lockers that were locked with the same key card as the doors! The free breakfast was great to have in such an expensive city and the free coffee machines were especially great!

Ideal for my situation - arriving late and early flight (0730) from Geneva. Everything acceptable considering covid19 situation. Takeaway breakfast much appreciated.

It was amazing having my own storage locker outside of the big bedrooms. It works nicely when people have different schedules. There is limited disturbance. The staff was ready to help, even when we were late. The included breakfast with coffee machines was perfect!

Early breakfast was the best, as was the free transportation, good service and beautiful hostel, the only thing not very good was the room, the plug and the bed light were not walking!

Good location for the railway station and near the centre of Geneva. A quiet neighbourhood, but may lack local colour if you prefer nightlife. Staff helpful and professional. Good facilities overall but shower areas would benefit from more ventilation as a bit muggy.

    Fabulous

Fine hostel. Toilet and shower facilities were okay and standard. We arrived at 11pm and were able to borrow adaptors from the reception with a deposit. We were not told whether we had lockers during our stay and were fine without, although I would have preferred to use a secure locker. There were a few school trips there which affected the environment but they weren't too loud. My friend and I were able to store our luggage on the day of checkout in a secure locker for a few francs.

Staff was very rude. There were some that were great, but most of them I had bad experiences with. First they tell you to go to the tourism office for suggestions and don’t even attempt to help you. Second, one of the staff members rudely blamed me for “forgetting” to show ID, when in reality the staff never asked when I checked in. We got in an argument about it because she refused to accept responsibility and it was one of the rudest encounters I’ve ever had as a paying guest at a hotel/hostel

Please do yourself a favour and avoid this hostle. As clinical as marble and as cold. Staff are welded to earphones, unhygienic, two minute walk from room to external toilets. Really bad value at 38 euros, worst hostle stayed in ever.

Rude staff, do not want to give any recommendations, plan extra time for check-in/check-out they're not in a rush. Only one shower + toilet for the complete second floor. All other floors/bathrooms cannot be opened with the keycard they give you. Need to pay for a locker if you want to leave your bag to explore the city before departure. Didn't think it would be possible, but this was the most expensive and at the same time worst hostel I've stayed at.
