Great stay for the price! All staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms and facilities were very clean. The shower water never got very hot, but it was actually a perfect temperature for me. Free breakfast is provided for hostel guests from 7-9am every morning! They also provide tour services and will help you plan a trip if you don't already have one planned. Notes: You must bring your own towel and soap for washing. Also, beware of mosquitoes in the rooms at night.

Staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean as well as the bathrooms and showers. Great location in UB and right next to the State Department Store which made food shopping easy. Only problem was the beds are SO LOUD! I felt afraid of moving or I would disturb others. Other than that it was great and I would definitely stay again.

Really cool hostel. I didn’t know how social it was going to be coming from Vietnam to Mongolia, but you will actually meet a lot of fellow backpackers here. 5 minute walk from the mall, great location. The staff speaks perfect English and they are always cleaning. Really clean bathrooms. The only thing bad thing was that the beds were really loud but you’ll survive. Great tours, just tell the hostel your budget and how many days you want. I did a full month on the road and loved it!

Golden Gobi is a great hostel to stay at and book a tour of Mongolia with! We did a 3 day tour to Terelj National Park and loved our guide and everything about it. We stayed at the hostel the night before and the night after our tour. You get free breakfast which was basic but good. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. The staff was really nice and I loved how they all seemed like one big family. Thanks to Ogie and staff for everything!!

An excellent team run both this very lively hostel and some brilliant tours. I was here for three days and didn’t hear any complaints from other residents. Oeko, the owner, is incredibly helpful and thoroughly competent. The two day ger tour took us into real family homes where we had lots of time to chat with the locals and understand their way of life. I’ll do the Gobi desert next time!

Great hostel in UB - in a nice location within walking distance of many things to see/do. Our private room was clean and had a really big, comfortable bed. Breakfast included an egg - not just bread like in other hostels we've stayed - so that was great! The hostel is quite busy, so do expect some noise in the hallways into the evening. Our only complaint is that the WiFi connection was poor.

Great location in UB city centre for a good price. Helpful staff and enough space to meet some other travelers. Lounge and kitchen areas close up a little early to my liking (10pm-11pm), but other than that had a great time!

    Very Good

    19 Jun 2019
Hostel is in a good location and is well-kept. Staff even picked me up from the train station, which was a nice surprise! However, the facilities are not as good as most other youth hostels. There are no individual charging outlets, reading lights, or shelves next to each bunk bed. I was really missing these things. The little cafe is nice, but I wish there was a water boiler for making tea in the basement.
