We’re the only travelers’ accommodation within Fort Mason, a popular stretch of National Park land right on the San Francisco Bay. A licensed concessionaire of the National Park Service, HI San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf Hostel is housed in a historic building surrounded by park land. Easily walk from the hostel to Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Crissy Field, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Fort Mason Pavilion and other convention buildings, the Marina District, and multiple bus lines serving neighborhoods and landmarks throughout the city.

The upper bunks in some of the dorms don't have a ladder so they're a bit harder to access. There's so dedicated storage near the bed to store your mobile or earphones or a book. Neither are there smaller lights at your bed for you to use instead of the main room light. Each room has one-two plug points. These are the tradeoffs for staying in a historic hostel. Amazing staff who's really inclined to help you out. An iconic location inside Fort Mason with views and park right outside.

I had a wonderful stay at this HI San Francisco Fisherman Wharf Hostel! This was my first time staying at a hostel at all so I had no idea what to expect, but check in was seamless, staff was very helpful and polite, and the beds were sooooooooo so comfortable i almost missed my 8 am train sleeping in haha. The location was great and gorgeous being right on the Bay and the trail to the Golden Gate Bridge. Would definitely recommend to others and come back myself!
