HI Whistler sets a whole new standard of hostelling, with all the facilities you'd expect – and more. Our building was originally designed as athletes' accommodation for the 2010 Winter Olympics, making it the ideal base for discovering the thrills of Canada's West Coast playground. Hungry? Our on-site café, Cheaky's, serves local beer and ciders, as well as home-cooked meals and specialty coffees. By night, relax in our TV lounge (we have a whopping 52-inch HD TV!) or our games room, where you could get involved in a mini pool tournament.

Our hostel's right at the foot of Whistler Mountain on the borders of the lovely Garibaldi Provincial Park. We're in the ideal spot for skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, bungee jumping, whitewater rafting, snowmobiling... basically, you can get those adrenaline highs right on our doorstep! You'll find us just outside of Whistler Village itself, but we're well connected with buses – just catch the number 20 or 20X (the express) from the stop 150m down the road (the journey takes about 25 minutes). Coming here by car? Park for free in our guest-only spaces. We offer airport transfers too.

Rooms and Dorms

Our private rooms are modern and – if we may say so ourselves – more sumptuous than some luxury hotels! If you're staying in a dorm room, you're still in luck, as they're small enough to almost feel private. We have both single-sex and mixed dorms. We'll treat you to Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and storage lockers for free, and you can get to your room easily via an elevator.

Extras and activities

Keep your skis, board and bike safe in our storage room when you're heading out, and be sure to grab a free map from the reception desk if you're not familiar with the area. We have a fully equipped kitchen that's open 24 hours a day if you want to rustle up a snack... and a vending machine for quick sugar fixes.

Very clean rooms, large modern kitchen facility, well organized common spaces and delightful staff make this one of the best hospitals I’ve stayed in.

Had a great stay! The hostel is about 9 km from Whistler village so keep that in mind, but if you have a car or use the bus it shouldn’t be an issue. Very clean, nice environment and amenities, would stay again!

We really enjoyed our two night stay here, very clean and comfortable double room with en-suite. Close by to Function Junction and about a 10 min drive to the Village. Staff were helpful and gave us information about local nights. The cafe had vegan options which I’m always made up by - as well as meat options for breakfast so that my boyfriend was also happy. Would definitely return and recommend.

I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm which was a good sized room. Kitchen was very clean too with a nice balcony area when the weathers nice. There’s a cafe downstairs open from 7am till 2pm, good for a quick coffee. You’re mostly going to the village for hikes/activities but the bus is free at weekends & $2.50 during week so not too bad! Make sure you go to Pure bread (really nice bakery closest is in function junction)! Only thing I felt was missing was a free breakfast :)

Nice clean facility. Pretty far away from Whistler where you want to be so spend a good amount of time going back and fourth.

I stayed for 9 days. Pros - helpfull staff, smartly organized kitchen. Free parking. Illusion of privacy in dorms. 2 sockets at each bed. Reliable wifi. 24/7 frontdesk. Cons - aircon spiked up ridiculously (even when its cold outside) in most of the common areas, i had to wear winter jacket everytime I wanted to eat. I think this might be connected to the lack of atmosphere in the hostel. Beds creaking like crazy. Seemed like not enough toilets. Overall mostly satisfied. Would come back.

    Very Good

    24 Jul 2019
The hostel is fairly new. Friendly staff to greet you. You get a swipe card that lets you into your bedroom but there is no other “swipe access” throughout the building. Bedroom was decent sized, we stayed in 4 bed mixed dorm, sharing a bathroom (2 sinks, 1 toilet,1 shower) with another 4 bed room. The room itself had good storage lockers, must bring your own lock. Small cafe that had decent breakfast food. If you’re driving it’s easy to get into whistler, about 15 mins away.

Really clean hostel with modern rooms. Large kitchen area and lovely reception. Not a very lively hostel and a bit too far out of whistler for those staying for a short time who want to be in the middle of the action. Overall good value for money when booking last minute stay.

Poor location, pretty quiet and antisocial place. A lack of activities organised by the hostel. Bar wasn’t open as advertised which didn’t help although considering the older demographic, I’m not sure it would have got used anyway. Very clean, excellent facilities and good value for money, but can’t recommend based on location and atmosphere.
