One of my favourite hostels in the Balkans. Great staff, great guests, amazing common areas for chilling out or socialising and an incredible free breakfast. The staff and volunteers were super helpful providing us with the location of secret beaches and plenty of activities to fill the day.

We spent 3 amazing days at Himara Hostel. There are so many nice beaches to explore. The hostel is very cool with a nice common area and kitchen. The courtyard is perfect to chill out and a great place to meet other travellers. Our highlight was the people from the hostel, everyone was so friendly and helpful. They knew answers to all our questions, they are very knowledgeable about the area and things to do. They were so fun and just the coolest people we have met in Albania so far!

We had a fantastic stay at Himare Hostel. We were a family of four - two teenage girls who stayed in a dorm and we booked a private ensuite room. This combination worked well. As a 'retired' back-packer I really enjoyed the hostel atmosphere - everyone was very friendly including the staff and volunteers. Breakfast was great - information about local beaches and onward travel accurate. It retains the feeling of a family guest house - which was lovely.

This is the best hostel! I can’t believe how lovely it was for the price. Clean, spacious rooms, lovely big modern kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, delicious breakfast. The garden is huge, perfect for relaxing and has 7 hammocks!! 5 mins from the beach and staff will help you with anything you need. Perfect.

We extended our stay at himara hostel because we had such a lovely time here. There are loads of hangout areas to relax in. The staff were really friendly, helpful and forthcoming with information about the place and how to get elsewhere. The breakfast was also really great. Highly recommend for your stay in Himara.

Really lovely hostel with a nice garden and cats waking around. The only improvement that could be done is to have the breakfast earlier, starting at 8:00, because 9:00 is a bit too late.

    Very Good

Really chill hostel! Loved all the outdoor spaces and hammocks. There’s a dog and about four cats in case you’re allergic. Super friendly and helpful staff, they helped make our trip great!! Dorms are fine (could use more plugs or a plug splitter) but bathrooms smell disgusting and often didn’t have hot water. Close to the beach, supermarket, and restaurants. Breakfast was good (standard bread/feta/eggs/fruit & tomato/cucumber) but should start at 8, at 9 is a bit late.

Atmosphere was a little dead, mostly couples, staff were friendly, dorms were not super clean. I ended up moving to another hostel.

What a bad experience I had at Himara Hostel. On arrival I was greeted by 4 barkling dogs. Actually those dogs barkle even at night, you have been warned. The owner lives in Germany so the hostel is managed by unpaid volunteers, who are quite nice but cannot replace a real manager. Also nobody was able to give me tips about the city, like places for eating. One night I had to help for an emergency, one guest was having a panic attack. When I came back to my bed, the dog was sleeping in it!
