Property Description

Remarkably located in the heart of Chelsea, Midtown Manhattan. We are on-site 24/7 to make sure everybody is happy, peaceful and safe. This is a vegetarian place. No smoking, no alcohol, no meat/fish/egg products. No spitting on the floor. We use the profits from the guest rooms here to provide free hot meal for homeless people in the streets of New York City. Our guests are welcome to come to help with the meal distribution. It's a wonderful way to experience the happiness of giving.

Our location in the heart of Chelsea, West Side Manhattan (between 28th and 29th streets) is remarkable: we're within walking distance of Times Square, Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, High-line Park, Central Park, and the world-famous Manhattan Theater District. Subway station is a 2 min walk. This neighborhood is very central and safe. It's known for its unique restaurants, shops, art galleries and theaters. You can get anywhere in the city quickly and easily from here.

Our hostel-style separate pod-rooms are simple, cozy, and very clean. Although small in size they are centered around a spacious common lounge area with free WiFi. Fresh, clean sheets, pillows towels and blankets are there for you. Bringing a pair of flip-flops to use in the bathroom would be a good idea.

God has really blessed me in my travels. The Interfaith Retreats was my first Hostel Experience and they were the perfect folks to bring me in to this lifestyle. The rumors are true about hostel life, but due to the spirituality branding of the hostel was the biggest take away from my experience. They will have 2 customers for a long time since I'll be traveling to NYC often.

Perfect if you literally just need a bed to sleep on. The rooms are tiny but the living room is cozy and the bathroom is very well kept. The staff is available 24/7 and are very attentive. Since my plan was to be out almost all the time this place was perfect, and the quiet policy they have really helps if you actually want some rest after a long day. Definitely not a party hostel but a great choice for a calmer stay.

I loved it and have recommended it. Cubicles are small but I felt cosy and safe. Also the quiet was such a nice relief after being out on the streets. The location was great. Generous food and healthy

The best thing that I love about the Interfaith is its location. I can quickly go anywhere by taking any subway trains from there. Staff, neighbors of the building n other visitors living there in general are friendly. What I've paid for is what I got, very reasonable price n services if not expecting everything to be perfect. Highly recommend Interfaith to those who come to NYC to take care of their own important business during day times n then come back at night to relax, clean n sleep.

Unfortunately I had a room next to both the main entrance/exit and the snack area so there was constant noise from people coming, in, going out, and heating food in the microwave. Also, I extended my stay for one night but was accused of not paying because the desk person that handled my extension charged it to the hostel upstairs. Fortunately I had the credit card receipt as proof I paid although I believe I was over charged. Probably would have been a good experience if not for these issues.

The location is quite good, and you can easily walk to so many places in the city. HOWEVER, when you book one of those "private rooms", you really think that it's private, when it really isn't. I guess to maintain good ventilation and heating, rooms have no ceilings, so you're basically lying down on a very small bed in a very small room with no ceiling, listening to every single noise coming from other rooms (snoring, talking, moving, etc). I couldn't sleep at all!

It’s the worst hotel I had in my life. They choose the wrong receptionist ever. Who would ask you about your faith and your answer showed clearly on his face, even though it’s named interfaith retreat!!! If you’re a tall person don’t ever go there. You can hear people next to you talking, coughing, farting, and snoring. In short there’s no privacy. Very tiny small room made of wood with no ceiling. I said (hi to the guy in charge the place and asked him how he was. he just said (ok) with no lif

You don't have a real room. It's like a closet in the middle of a floor clustered with other closets. The top is essentially open and people were yelling all night and I couldn't even sleep. The bathroom is small and cramped with hair everywhere. All of the other guests are homeless transients. It seems like place is used like a homeless shelter. NOT A HOSTEL. More like a wayhouse.

This place is they absolute worst case scenario. I'm writing this while bedbugs eat my skin poking me. It has such a great rating. Maybe it's the cult members there. Yes there's a cult there. But don't worry ( sarcasm) they only run the facility. What you should worry about is the homeless people. The room says private but it has no ceiling. No f%##%^ ceiling how is it private??? Not to mention the crazy homeless will laugh joker laughs an slam doors until midnight. Maybe long i left at 1am.
