Property Description

Remarkably located in the heart of Chelsea, Midtown Manhattan. We are on-site 24/7 to make sure everybody is happy, peaceful and safe. This is a vegetarian place. No smoking, no alcohol, no meat/fish/egg products. No spitting on the floor. We use the profits from the guest rooms here to provide free hot meal for homeless people in the streets of New York City. Our guests are welcome to come to help with the meal distribution. It's a wonderful way to experience the happiness of giving.

Our location in the heart of Chelsea, West Side Manhattan (between 28th and 29th streets) is remarkable: we're within walking distance of Times Square, Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, High-line Park, Central Park, and the world-famous Manhattan Theater District. Subway station is a 2 min walk. This neighborhood is very central and safe. It's known for its unique restaurants, shops, art galleries and theaters. You can get anywhere in the city quickly and easily from here.

Our hostel-style separate pod-rooms are simple, cozy, and very clean. Although small in size they are centered around a spacious common lounge area with free WiFi. Fresh, clean sheets, pillows towels and blankets are there for you. Bringing a pair of flip-flops to use in the bathroom would be a good idea.

    Superb

Perfect if you literally just need a bed to sleep on. The rooms are tiny but the living room is cozy and the bathroom is very well kept. The staff is available 24/7 and are very attentive. Since my plan was to be out almost all the time this place was perfect, and the quiet policy they have really helps if you actually want some rest after a long day. Definitely not a party hostel but a great choice for a calmer stay.

Great spot for a single traveler. Super nice staff and great quiet, safe environment. This is a shared space so folks are quiet and respectful which really appealed to me but if you are looking for a place to be social and network, not going to be the right fit. Clean and convenient- highly recommend!

Great place for a few nights. The environment was homey and staff was welcoming. The room was really small but manageable.

    Fabulous

Pros: Rooms are comfortable and lock Bathrooms are clean Noise levels low Safe for single travelers Cons: Beds (which are built into the walls) are small - I'm 5'10" and couldn't lay flat Ceiling of room consists of wooden lattice-work with blanket partially draped over - everyone can hear you and you can hear everyone Overall: I was there for a weekend with friends and needed a place to sleep and keep my stuff and didn't need a place to hang out - this fit that bill very nicely.

    Very Good

The owner was an absolute gem! Really kind guy. The space was beautifully dressed. They also always had some food out and was very accommodating. The only negative experience I had was I got back late one night and I said hello to the staff and he shushed me quite aggressively and than did the same to another person staying. I thought it was a little over the top and unnecessary. I did appreciate that he was trying to keep it down for others though. Just a little less abrasive.

Yeah it was good. Cozy. Hear the snoring and the lady kept shooshing the snoring person. Hilarious. Hot showers. Heaters. Lots of steps. Get acquainted with Penn Station and 23 street subway station.

    Very Good

The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Thin and just tough to get some rest. It is very quiet and I spoke to no one which is odd for me. Didn't love the fact that you didn't have privacy in the bathrooms. Ive stayed at a few hostel and there is always a bit of separation and a sense of privacy when doing your business. Not at this place. The location is the selling factor. 5 minute walk from Penn station, near the subway, right in Chelsea but that is all this place has.

    Good

The location is quite good, and you can easily walk to so many places in the city. HOWEVER, when you book one of those "private rooms", you really think that it's private, when it really isn't. I guess to maintain good ventilation and heating, rooms have no ceilings, so you're basically lying down on a very small bed in a very small room with no ceiling, listening to every single noise coming from other rooms (snoring, talking, moving, etc). I couldn't sleep at all!

The "room" was tiny, actually it wasn't a room. Uncomfortable, noisy (even if we should be quiet after 8pm, of course you still hear noises like steps, snore as there are no real walls between the rooms and the roof is open). it is an open space where all the private rooms are. I couldn't sleep. Worst experience ever. Fortunately I'm short and I could fit to this uncomfortable bed. I had very high expectations because of the high rating of the hostel. However, only the location is good.
