The staff were so helpful. Especially on the last day when they helped call me a shuttle bus. I would recommend this place. It’s great value for money.

I don't know if you can find a better deal than this hostel in NYC. Sure, cleanliness of the baths could be better, but for the price and local I don't know how you'll find better. It's incredibly convenient to museums (Nat History, MET, etc.) as well as some fantastic eating locals. Across the street from Central Park, and a subway stop. If you are a woman I would highly recommend springing for the all-female dorm as there aren't many baths and the women's floor gets two. Wish rooms had locks

The place is a nice spot for anyone that enjoys a calm and quiet neighborhood. The people whom I shared room with were nice and approachable. The house is very old, the stairs are crooked and make noise with every step; I did not feel safe in them. Other than that, the room is what you expect from a hostel: bunk beds and simple. I just missed a spot to charge my phone in the top bed, because i needed it to wake up in the morning.

Good value for money!! Wifi doesnt exist in rooms but it happens on purpose because they wanna respect everyone. The only thing is that toilet was full of shit the 2nd day , so we had to pee two or three floors from our room. I dont wanna be racist but they shouldn’t have let the overweight man in our room. Except for the shit stuff he did, he was snoring too much so NO ONE in the room could sleep. Finally, special credits to Sara (the blond one), who was the best of all three members of stuff.

A cosy hostel to spend the night in and to wander out during the day. It’s lacking of small things (no bed lights or plugs for the beds. No lockers or shelves in the room and we’re not allowed bags, not very convenient.) But the beds are comfy, the rooms look friendly. Staff is helpful. Common areas are clean and there is all you need to cook and chill with your mates.

Hostel is in a very central location, the staff were friendly and welcoming The room was not fit for purpose, the shower didn’t really work and my bed wasn’t very comfy and kept moving. You aren’t provided with a duvet. Overall great location and decent price for Manhattan but I would recommend the ‘Local Nyc’ in Queens for a much nicer experience.

Very, very dated, dirty and basic. Everything is loud and creaky and feels like it is about to fall apart at any minute. The FOH staff were lovely, but the fact that the office hours are 0800-2300 and you cannot access your suitcase outside of that time is ridiculous. They are also in no position to be charging “bag minding” fees when the hostel is in such a terrible state. Paid the same price in DC and got breakfast, snacks, free tours and a free dinner during my stay. Won’t be back.

Our room was on the top floor, which we were expecting. Our double room had no lock and a broken skylight. There was plastic sheeting in place of the broken structure, which was drafty and rustled loudly, keeping us awake all night. The wifi does not reach any of the bedrooms, but does work in the lounge. There are no locks available, so bring your own for the closet "locker". My sheets smelt like pee and the beds were mediocre. Not great. Location is close to C line and Central Park, though.
