Hostelworld says

In typical Meininger style, their Salzburg City Centre hostel spoils its guests on location. Sited close to the historic old town, you can explore all the city's favourite sights, such as Mozart's birthplace and the Festival Hall, on foot with ease. If retail therapy is your thing, then you're right in Zentrum im Berg, the city's shopping centre. But it's not just the location that makes this hostel great. The bar is the perfect place to meet fellow travellers and bond over a game of pool or table football, and its kitchen helps keep food costs to a minimum.

Property Description

Welcome to MEININGER Hotel Salzburg City Center!

Servus and welcome! Salzburg is the home of the Mozartkugel, the Salzburg Festival and the Old Residence. But up to now there has been one thing missing - the new MEININGER Salzburg City Center. For your convenience, we've sited it close to the historic old town in the 'Zentrum im Berg' shopping centre on the Kapuzinerberg. From here you can easily explore on foot the sights of this 'world-class small town', such as Mozart's birthplace or the Festival Hall.

But you can also enjoy spending time in the hostel - in the morning why not go along to the breakfast room to enjoy our all-you-can-eat-and-drink breakfast buffet for 7,90€. At lunchtime or in the evening - if you've had enough of Salzburger Nockerl - you can make yourself a meal in our guest kitchen and get to know other guests from all over the world. Finish off the evening with a trip to the bar and have another chance to meet new friends. Or enjoy a clear view of the stars from our roof terrace.
The MEININGER is well-known for its unique and relaxed international atmosphere, and here in Salzburg it's combined with a laid-back feeling that is typically Austrian.

In the games room you can defend your honour at pool or table football or show off your singing voice at a karaoke evening. Or maybe you want to chat with your friends on our internet terminals in the lobby? If you've got your own laptop, WLAN is available free-of-charge in all our areas.

If you've been on the road for a while, you can use the washer and dryer in our guest kitchen to freshen up your laundry.

If you've got your skis with you or are using Salzburg as a stopover on your way to the slopes, your gear can be happily ensconced in our ski storage room.

And you can spend the night in a single, double or shared room. We also have a small mixed dormitory and a women-only dormitory. Please note that only people older than 18 years old are allowed to sleep in the dormitories! So that you don't get bored, every room has a TV and its own bathroom with shower and toilet. You can happily leave your bedding at home as at MEININGER it is always included in the price.

The hotel is very clean, everyone who works there is very kind and ready to help you. The hotel has a lot of good amenities and they have movie nights with the sound of the music which is great. The rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. You have supermarkets very close and it's easy to access to public transportation.

Decent hotel! The only slight downside to this hostel is the location. It’s quite far (still walking distance through) from both the central train station and the old city. Otherwise the staff were great, the reception is staffed 24/7 which was convenient for our early checkout and we were able to securely store our bags before check in. Lots of brochures available plus cold drinks at reception. The elevator was a big plus for me too!

Great hostel/hotel. Super clean and inclusive of some amenities not normally seen in hostels. We really enjoyed our stay. Only complaint is that Salzburg has two areas that can be defined as the “city center” and this place is a 30min walk or 12min bus ride to old town and what public transport truly considers the city center. Would definitely stay again. Just keep this in mind!

Nice hostel, very clean and tidy, but a bit of a walk from the old city center. Very good value for the money though.

More like a hotel than a hostel, but kinda nice. The beds could use curtains !! Guest kitchen was great, albeit a bit busy. Staff were awesome.

Location isn't walkable to major sights. Facilities (kitchen and laundry) were a little cramped. Otherwise, great staff and service.

Not great for social or to explore Salzburg. Located outside the downtown in an area without bars or restaurants.

The beds were not very comfortable. There was a lot of dust in our room and the mixed dorms were not great. There was no security for young women and little regard by the staff for their safety needs when there were issues of questionable behavior by men in the hostel. It is far from the city center and for everything combined not worth it.
