Hostelworld says

In typical Meininger style, their Salzburg City Centre hostel spoils its guests on location. Sited close to the historic old town, you can explore all the city's favourite sights, such as Mozart's birthplace and the Festival Hall, on foot with ease. If retail therapy is your thing, then you're right in Zentrum im Berg, the city's shopping centre. But it's not just the location that makes this hostel great. The bar is the perfect place to meet fellow travellers and bond over a game of pool or table football, and its kitchen helps keep food costs to a minimum.

Property Description

Welcome to MEININGER Hotel Salzburg City Center!

Servus and welcome! Salzburg is the home of the Mozartkugel, the Salzburg Festival and the Old Residence. But up to now there has been one thing missing - the new MEININGER Salzburg City Center. For your convenience, we've sited it close to the historic old town in the 'Zentrum im Berg' shopping centre on the Kapuzinerberg. From here you can easily explore on foot the sights of this 'world-class small town', such as Mozart's birthplace or the Festival Hall.

But you can also enjoy spending time in the hostel - in the morning why not go along to the breakfast room to enjoy our all-you-can-eat-and-drink breakfast buffet for 7,90€. At lunchtime or in the evening - if you've had enough of Salzburger Nockerl - you can make yourself a meal in our guest kitchen and get to know other guests from all over the world. Finish off the evening with a trip to the bar and have another chance to meet new friends. Or enjoy a clear view of the stars from our roof terrace.
The MEININGER is well-known for its unique and relaxed international atmosphere, and here in Salzburg it's combined with a laid-back feeling that is typically Austrian.

In the games room you can defend your honour at pool or table football or show off your singing voice at a karaoke evening. Or maybe you want to chat with your friends on our internet terminals in the lobby? If you've got your own laptop, WLAN is available free-of-charge in all our areas.

If you've been on the road for a while, you can use the washer and dryer in our guest kitchen to freshen up your laundry.

If you've got your skis with you or are using Salzburg as a stopover on your way to the slopes, your gear can be happily ensconced in our ski storage room.

And you can spend the night in a single, double or shared room. We also have a small mixed dormitory and a women-only dormitory. Please note that only people older than 18 years old are allowed to sleep in the dormitories! So that you don't get bored, every room has a TV and its own bathroom with shower and toilet. You can happily leave your bedding at home as at MEININGER it is always included in the price.

Embrace laid-back Austrian life at MEININGER Salzburg City Centre, where our chilled communal spaces are the perfect place for meeting other travellers. Test local beers in our bar, then head to the rooftop terrace for some fresh air and views of the city – or the stars! You'll get down to some serious fun in the games room, especially on karaoke night. (Don't worry, if you don't want to sing, there's pool and foosball for you!) In the morning, tuck into our bargain all-you-can-eat (and drink) breakfast buffet while you use the free Wi-Fi to update your mates back home.

Find us just across the river from some of the city's most famous landmarks, like the birthplace of Mozart on the Getreidegasse (15 minutes away on O-bus 4 or 10). Closer to home, there's the Zentrum im Berg shopping centre, a 1-minute walk. We're also 2 minutes from Kapuzinerberg park and gardens, so climb to the observation deck in the middle for great views. From the airport, take O-Bus 10 for 26 minutes or O-Bus 2 for 36 minutes to within a minute's walk of us, or jump on bus 130 or 150 to Salzburg Central Train Station (7 minutes from our door).

Rooms and Dorms

Our rooms all have a TV and en-suites with toiletries. Private ones give you more of your own space and include fresh towels, and some have a balcony too. Dorms are super sociable places, with bunks covered in fresh sheets (you can hire towels) and self-lock lockers. If you're a woman flying solo, we've got female-only dorms for you.

Extras and activities

Arriving early? Leave your bags in our luggage room and go treat yourself to an Austrian cake and coffee. When your room's ready, jump in the elevator (in case one cake turned into three!). Grab a free map on your way to explore and hire a bike reception. And last but definitely not least, the kitchen's always open for cooking up snacks, or pop by the café.

It was a great place. The place is sanitized well and extremely clean at all times. The atmosphere and the room was great for the price. If you are looking for a place to stay for longer time for about 3 to 5 days I would definitely recommend this place. If you are driving to Salzburg this place also has good parking space.

Literally a hotel you share with strangers. Really confortable and clean but a little odd, no hostel vibes at all. There is no age limit either I guess like other hostels.

Don't book this if you're a solo traveller looking fir a hostel. This is a hotel with bunk beds. There was no atmosphere, it is not as good as other meninger hostels.
