Location
Mad Monkey Coogee Beach puts you right on the sand at one end of the iconic Coogee to Bondi coastal walk—a must-do when visiting Sydney. Stay in the laid-back beachside suburb of Coogee, where you can relax like a local while still being close to the action.

Getting around is easy—regular buses stop right outside the hostel and run day and night into central Sydney. From Central Station, you’ll have quick access to the rest of the city and greater New South Wales. We're also just a short stroll from the Coogee Beach Cricket Oval, minutes from Royal Randwick Racecourse (Sydney’s home of horse racing), and conveniently close to the UNSW Randwick campus.

Activities & Events
At Mad Monkey, we’re all about community and good vibes. We host weekly social events to bring guests together, with favourites like pancake nights, pool tournaments, beach games, and sports days. All in-house guests will get the lowdown on what’s happening during your stay—so don’t miss out!

Accommodation
Whether you're flying solo or travelling with friends, we’ve got a space for you. Choose from classic shared dorms or more private, apartment-style rooms with your own lounge area. All rooms have been recently refurbished to ensure a clean, comfortable, and affordable stay.

Expect that signature Mad Monkey social buzz, plus our friendly team who are always on hand to help with whatever you need.

Terms & Conditions
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled check-in to avoid charges.

Group bookings (4 or more guests) must be arranged in advance—please email us directly to inquire.

If you do not show up on your check-in date, your booking will be cancelled and a full no-show fee will apply.

All guests must be 18 years or older. Guests over 40 are welcome but we suggest you book a private room.

For stays during the Christmas and New Year period, pre-payment is required 30 days prior to arrival and is non-refundable.

Things to Note
Reception hours: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM, 7 days a week. Arriving outside these times? Please email us in advance to arrange check-in.

Check-out time: 10:00 AM sharp.

Quiet hours: Begin at 10:00 PM to ensure a good night’s rest for all guests.

A $50 security deposit per person and valid government-issued photo ID are required at check-in.

Lockers are available for an additional fee—perfect for keeping your belongings safe.

Please note: while there is no air conditioning, all rooms have ceiling fans and benefit from the cool ocean breeze.

A 1.7% card surcharge applies to all payments made by credit or debit card.

If you’re booking multiple beds in a shared room, we can’t guarantee all guests will be placed in the same dorm—though we’ll do our best!
