This was by far my favourite place to stay in thailand. The social area is perfect and made being a solo traveller much easier. The beds were super clean, cozy and private. The toilets and showers were kept clean throughout the day. There is always a pot of coffee on the go, as well as crackers and bananas for you to help yourself to. The location is bang in the middle of everythinh. Nothing is too far away. If I ever find myself back in chiang mai, im heading straight to monkey toe!!

Clean and safe place with a great staff. Nice lounging area with free breakfast/coffee/tea. Staff was helpful and informative. At night, there are lots of delicious food stalls right down the street, less than a minute walk. Security, a card key needed to enter the entrance at night and to the room and it powered the AC. Multiple toilet and shower rooms that are separated. Pretty clean rooms and bathrooms. Nice vibe and chill people.

Monkey Toe is a really cool hostel and not too far away from the Old City. The main Wats (Phra Singh and Chedi Luang) are a bit of a walk away but not too far, but the night market is about a 40 minute walk away. The staff were amazingly helpful and always had a smile on their face. You got a locker as standard which was great and everyone got a key card for the room which is uncommon is a hostel of this budget. Wonderful for the money and will stay here with my group again! Had a very good time here at Monkey toe (weir name btw). The pod style bunks give you a sense of privacy and it's nice that they have a free breakfast at that price. It was also good to meet other travelers as there is a big social area near the reception. The staff was also very friendly. The only complaint is that me and all the others in the room got bedbugs

Great hostel, lovely and clean with free coffee/tea/water and bananas and crackers! The staff are very sweet and helpful. The only thing is it’s quite empty there right now, so don’t go there expecting a lot of people, more use it as a base.

This place was just really dirty. I had stains on my walls and the bathrooms were gross. Upside is that the beds we’re comfortable.

Would not stay here again if you paid me due to being eaten alive by bed bugs. Upon telling reception about the bed bugs my clothes were steamed and I was reassured that “pest control” would fumigate my bed area (turns out pest control is the cleaner with a hoover). This obviously didn’t work and I found more bed bugs in my sheets the night after. There are plenty more hostels on the same street which are much cleaner and friendlier
