Our loft-style hostel is in one of Brooklyn's trendiest neighbourhoods, so you'll feel like one of the super cool locals when you stay here. Check out our awesome events like international stand-up comedy shows, or mingle in our outdoor courtyard or common room. We've got free tea and coffee available all day, and an HD TV with satellite for bingeing on reality shows. We often host movie nights – great if you need some downtime during your stay in the city that never sleeps.

We're in East Williamsburg, an up-and-coming neighbourhood sandwiched between three of Brooklyn's hottest areas – Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick. It takes just over an hour to reach us from our closest New York airport, JFK, and we're only 25 minutes by train from lower Manhattan. In the blocks surrounding the hostel you'll find awesome places to eat and drink, with modern restaurants serving everything from mac 'n' cheese to curated cocktails. There's a hot shower waiting when you return.

Rooms and Dorms

Our mixed and female-only dorms are super spacious so you can really spread out. We also have private rooms in case you need even more space! You'll get a regular twin-size bed instead of a bunk, so there's no need for ladder climbing after a night in one of Brooklyn's speakeasy bars. Each bed comes with linen, a bedside lamp and a blanket. You also get your own locker – buy a padlock at reception or bring your own.

Extras and activities

We've got Wi-Fi throughout the hostel (ideal if you're hooked on Insta) and our common room has computers to use if you decided not to pack your own device. You'll be able to make a good dinner in our stocked kitchen, or just stay comfy in our cosy coffee lounge. Essentials have no extra cost: we supply towels and you can use our iron and hairdryers for free during your stay.

Nice and international hostel in Brooklyn. Staff is young, helpful and joyful. Downtown, Uptown, Financial District are easily reachable with a quite logical connections.

When I arrived at NY Moore Hostel I was greeted by friendly staff, kindly shown the facilities, and personally led to my room. This place has a lot of art (seriously some awesome stuff by seemingly local artists), character, and kindness. You have space, outlets, etc, even in multi-person rooms. The neighborhood, Bushwick, is 'the hippest' in New York in my opinion if you know where to look (just ask, people will help). And this hostel, out of three I've stayed in in New York, is my fave!

Definitely a dope ass spot! The art was awesome, the rooms were clean, well kept and the bathroom/shower was in the room! GREAT LOCATION. There are plenty of cool ass bars/venues/galleries/clubs around the area and It was close to the L train into the east village or the J to the LES. My only qualm was the atmosphere, I may have come during a dead weekend but there was not any life in the Hostel, meet people in the city or other travels then stay here!!!!!

Great stay at the Moore hostel! Met wonderful people from all around the world. Perfect location, close to shops and multiple subway lines. Staff were friendly and helpful, they seemed to really love their jobs. The kitchen was fantastic. And the BEST blankets I have ever had from a hostel. My only complaint is it could have been cleaner, but that’s just part of New York, I think. So make sure you bring flip flops for the shower, otherwise you will DEFINITELY need to go out and buy some!

Found this place when I was in a pinch. No hassle to check in or anything. Room and bathroom was clean. I was in between places and they were kind enough to let me hangout in the common room until I needed to leave. Would definitely stay again.

I had a very good stay here. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I can’t say I am a fan and of graffiti art, so the decor did not appeal to me- but it’s art. The neighborhood seemed sketchy and at first and I was concerned about safety, but then I learned it is an “up and coming” area and actually rather safe. My bed was quite comfortable- much to my surprise- and pleasure! I liked that they had a kitchen area and good coffee in the living room. Clean. Great price!

Overall good review. Excellent decoration and all the facilities you need. My room was on the ground floor - I did have a mouse/rat visitor on the first night who chewed into a sealed chocolate bar. An interesting story but not what one would want.

I tried to change my booking about 20 minutes after making it (I had made an error), and no refunds were allowed even the booking was many days away. When I arrived late at night after a long day of travelling, there was no hot water!!!
