Our loft-style hostel is in one of Brooklyn's trendiest neighbourhoods, so you'll feel like one of the super cool locals when you stay here. Check out our awesome events like international stand-up comedy shows, or mingle in our outdoor courtyard or common room. We've got free tea and coffee available all day, and an HD TV with satellite for bingeing on reality shows. We often host movie nights – great if you need some downtime during your stay in the city that never sleeps.

We're in East Williamsburg, an up-and-coming neighbourhood sandwiched between three of Brooklyn's hottest areas – Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick. It takes just over an hour to reach us from our closest New York airport, JFK, and we're only 25 minutes by train from lower Manhattan. In the blocks surrounding the hostel you'll find awesome places to eat and drink, with modern restaurants serving everything from mac 'n' cheese to curated cocktails. There's a hot shower waiting when you return.

Rooms and Dorms

Our mixed and female-only dorms are super spacious so you can really spread out. We also have private rooms in case you need even more space! You'll get a regular twin-size bed instead of a bunk, so there's no need for ladder climbing after a night in one of Brooklyn's speakeasy bars. Each bed comes with linen, a bedside lamp and a blanket. You also get your own locker – buy a padlock at reception or bring your own.

Extras and activities

We've got Wi-Fi throughout the hostel (ideal if you're hooked on Insta) and our common room has computers to use if you decided not to pack your own device. You'll be able to make a good dinner in our stocked kitchen, or just stay comfy in our cosy coffee lounge. Essentials have no extra cost: we supply towels and you can use our iron and hairdryers for free during your stay.

After scavenging for rooms in nyc and having a really hard time finding something nice, I came across NY Moore Hostel, and what a pleasant surprise 💚 Staff is super friendly and solicit, the rooms are extremely clean and tidy, there even is a mini library inside one of the main facilities. You can find a huge mural with interesting places to visit and fun events happening around the city. Would definitely come back! Ps: beds and pillows are super comfy I slept like a baby

I would recommend this hostel to anyone travelling economically to New York. The location is close to restaurants, supermarkets and public transport. The hostel itself was exceptionally clean, tidy and organised. The full kitchen and fridge was good for my budget. My expectations of a hostel in New York for exceeded my expectations.

This hostel is so groovy. The rooms are spacious, it’s eclectic, funky and artistic! Lots of chill out spaces. It’s close to the L and M trains. If you’re in to hip hop, you know about Bushwick and Marcy House Projects. This location is close by these to joints. It’s close to great food, laundromat and vintage thrifting. I’ll do it again.

Overall I would not recommend staying here and would not stay at the NY Moore hostel again myself. The facilities themselves are fine and clean but the staff were needlessly rude and condescending toward guests. They must not like their jobs. You can stay at just as nice of hostels for the same pricepoint in New York without snarky desk staff.

I stay here fairly regularly when I go to visit New York, and it's kind of hit or miss. The location is great, staff are usually professional and friendly and before COVID they had a great game room/ common area to hang out. These days you get a bed, a shared TV with Netflix and a kitchen with really old pots and pans. There doesn't seem to be a lot of effort anymore to make it a welcoming, fun atmosphere. Still, security seems good and you can't beat the location.

The people in the room and hostess was quite nice, but the bathroom needs major upheaval for the female dorm. It is definitely not clean and the water pressure is not great and I had to kill a bug there. Not the best - I planned on staying two nights and checked out a night early to stay in an actual hotel. It is cheap but not cheap enough to be this lacking. However, I was here once before and the mixed dorm was more spacious and had a cleaner bathroom compared to the female dorm, so maybe it a

I went to this property and the staff were very kind and helpful. We were early for check in and they let us store our bags there. However, when we came back for the night and checked into our room the smell of cigarette smoke was so overwhelmingly strong it made my friend nauseous and gave me a headache. The bathroom also did not look clean at all. Unfortunately we had to leave and find somewhere else to stay for the night as the smell of smoke was so overpowering.
