Hostelworld says

If you're looking for privacy during your stay in Budapest, Pal's Hostel is a great place to start from. This hostel offers comfortable private rooms and spacious apartments with beautiful views across the road to Szent Istvan's Basilica. It's located very near the Chain Bridge and the intersection of all three metro lines so it's easy to get anywhere in the city. Hostelworld guests have said 'it's like having a piece of your own home in another city' and they'd 'definitely recommend this hostel for those who want to spend their night in a quiet apartment and in a very central area'.

Property Description

We’re not a regular hostel, indeed, but a chain of apartments in the very centre of Budapest around St. Stephen's Basilica. If you fancy privacy and want to stay in a place that feels just like home, come to Pal's Hostel and enjoy your own apartment in Budapest.
We won the Hoscar of 'Best Hostel in Hungary 2013' and '10th Best Large Hostel Worldwide 2018' :)

We also offer private rooms with a shared bathroom.

Please note that our rooms called 'Basic Double Bed Private (Shared Bathroom)' are literally with double beds.
Please also note that we have no elevator for the rooms with shared bathrooms (but they’re only on the 1st and 2nd floors:)).
And we have no A/C:(

We’re very close to Deak Ferenc Square, the main junction for all undergrounds in Budapest. We are happy to be at your assistance here. You can print your e-ticket, buy tickets for the Szechenyi baths, Gellert baths or the caving tour. We also sell the Budapest Card. We have reasonable local knowledge to give you advice. We can help you get to Ozora Festival, Sziget Festival or Balaton Sound!

We can pick you up at the airport for €24 for 1-4 people; this means if there’s four of you it’s only €6 per person, while public transport is about €2.50 per person. Our contact information will be in your booking confirmation email.

We’re in the very centre of downtown. From here you can easily get to most of the sights on foot, such as Saint Stephen Basilica, Chain Bridge, Parliament, Andrassy Avenue (part of the World Heritage), Opera House, Great Synagogue, National Museum, Vaci Street, Vorosmarty Square and a lot of restaurants, cafes, pubs, clubs, party places on foot as well (like Akvarium Club, Anker Club, Castro Bistro, Szimpla Pub and Katapult).

Other important sightseeing spots like Buda Castle (also part of the World Heritage with the Fisherman's Bastion, Matthias Church and the National Gallery), Heroes' Square, the City Park or the baths (Szechenyi, Gellert, Rudas) are also close. You can be there in 20-30 minutes.

The Danube bank is only five minutes’ walk away!

    Superb

We absolutely loved this place! We thought we had booked a small private double bed room as we have gotten in every other hostel we have stayed in, but we ended up with a whole apartment by our self, with kitchen and a big tub. The location was perfect and the staff very friendly! Would definitely stay here again!

    Fabulous

Pals hostel is right in the middle of everything, perfect location and I think its a bit expensive for what you get, like no aircon and entertainment in the apartment. Marci was very helpful and explained us how to get around the city. For the money we paid, we could have got the room with aircon and tv but all in all it wasn't a bad stay at all.

    Very Good

    30 May 2018
A relatively clean hostel in an excellent location. Only let down by the amount of noise both during the day and at night caused by other guests. The hostel seems to be geared towards stag/hen groups and parties and was noisy with drunken behaviour.

Pal's Hostel says

I think that what people really appreciate about our place is that we have accommodation to suit everyone, from dorm beds to luxury apartments, in one of the most beautiful and practical locations in Budapest. With our chain of apartments surrounding St Stephen\'s square, we're only a short walk away from many of the main attractions. St Stephen's Basilica is at our doorstep and The Chain Bridge, Budapest Opera House and The Houses of Parliament are all within 800m. There are also two metro stations nearby- so getting around is easy! Personally, I would recommend that people visit my favourite original Turkish hammam, Rudas Bath :) Pal, Owner/Manager

Things to Note

This is not a party hostel.
Our rooms/apartments are in different buildings (very close to each other). There are also local residents living in these buildings. Please mind their sleep. Don't be loud after 10 pm. You can have parties in 500 meters:)

Our reception desk opens from 9 am to 2 am. But you can check-in anytime after 2 pm. We'll contact you for detailed information of your arrival to estimate your check-in time.
If you arrive before 14.00 we can lock up your luggage and you can wait in our lobby.

Please note that we can not accept credit cards.

Please also note that our rooms called 'Basic Double Bed Private (Shared Bathroom)' are literally with double beds. And we have no elevator for this type of rooms (but they’re only on the 1st and 2nd floors:)).

And we have no A/C:(

Our reception desk is open from 9 am to 2 am every day. If you arrive later than that we will come back to let you in.
We will contact you for detailed information about your arrival - such as train or flight details - a few days before your arrival.

Please note that you can take your room from 14:00. If you arrive earlier you can store your bags at the reception and wait there from 9 am.

We can pick you up at the airport for 24 EUR for 1-4 people; this means if there are four of you it is only 6 per person, while public transport is about 2.50 per person. Please send us an email if you're interested.

Please also note that we aren't able to accept credit card payments so your remaining balance should be paid in cash.
