I loved my stay at Rucksack! I stayed in the pod bunks and really liked that I had a curtain for privacy. The facilities were all clean and inviting. The common area is a great area to meet people, but it's not rambunctious like some party hostels. The staff is AMAZING! I lost my book behind the bed, and they helped me completely dismantle the bed to get it back! Great location, great people. Will stay again next time I'm in Singapore!

Great hostel to stay at. Warm and inviting staff. Place is clean a fairly big. Breakfast area is clean an organized. Travelers there are quite and polite. Overall its a quite place. Close to anywhere you need to go. Bathrooms and showers are clean and provide you with shampoo, soap, toilet paper. the beds are simple and clean. they give you a key for the room you are staying in so random do not simply walk in. I will stay here again.

Good location and clean. Air con was great when its on. Atmosphere was ok. Most days the hostel was quiet, but on the weekends the rooftop gets a bit livelier. The lockers provided were not that great however, they were permutation lockers made out of plastic and most of them did not work.

Rooftop area is great to chill out and the reception/breakfast area is ideal for meeting new people. AC worked well as did the WiFi. Only thing that would be better is lockers in the room.

A great place to stay. Free breakfast is good but milk for coffee would have been good as the ‘whitener’ has sugar. Also I have to question the wisdom of closing down and cleaning a whole bathroom at 8am, it can make things very crowded in the other bathroom. It also might be time for new mattresses. But staff are great and an afternoon beer on the roof is a nice way to wind down at the end of a long day. Location is good with many good options within walking distance.

For a solo backpacker, I found it hard to find hostels in Singapore compared to the rest of Asia! The hostel is pretty Basic, I stayed in ‘deluxe’ meaning I had a pod, tiny and dark rooms but was manageable. The rooftop is a great place to relax meet people, sunbathe and chill at night. I met some great people here. For a free breakfast you can’t complain! Hostel has lovely staff. Close to mrt & bus station & a few hawker centres. Would recommend!

The cheapest hostel I could find in Singapore and I actually quite enjoyed my stay there too. The free breakfast was a nice addition in such an expensive city.

Rucksack Inn @Lavender Street (Green Kiwi) says

I\'d say the most unique feature of our hostel is the rooftop garden. It\'s big, it\'s lush, and it\'s a great place to hang out, especially in the evenings when it\'s cooler. We can\'t help that it\'s hot in Singapore during the day, but you can sunbathe if you like.

Also, our breakfast puts us ahead of the rest. We provide a variety of spreads and breakfast lasts till 12.. or later! So you can sleep in! We also provide complimentary all day coffee and tea.

Singapore is quite a small island, with excellent public transport, and nothing is very far. We\'re in the city area, easily accessible from all the main tourist areas. We have the famous Lavender Street hawker centre just across the road, with heaps of cheap local food. I\'d recommend two must-see free things: the URA\'s Singapore city gallery (three floors of scale models of the city) by day, and the four sections of Singapore River (Clarke Quay, Boat Quay, Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay) by night.
