Property Description

Through design concepts we aim to recreate the communal living atmosphere of a traditional Khmer village, with the addition of a few contemporary luxuries.

Our bungalows, nestled amongst lush gardens, banana and mango trees, offer accommodation for families, solo travellers, groups and couples with prices to suit most budgets. To be clear about occupancy, we have rooms with either one double bed, or two double beds - so if there are four of you, you will share two doubles.

Our wish to promote traditional Khmer culture is not only seen in our style of bungalows, but our restaurant on site serves up authentic Khmer dishes, including traditional bbq food, fresh seafood and vegetarian options.

We also collaborate with local artists and musicians to host weekly cultural events and artistic presentations to share our beloved roots and, in doing so, preserve our traditions and promote sustainable tourism.

We offer swimming, kayaking, bicycle and moto rental, tour, bus and transport services, lots of local information and, of course, our relaxing communal lounge/bar/dining area with WiFi overlooking the river. View House Rules

Amazing place to stay! Such a beautiful and peaceful location out of town and right on the river. Good food and drink at the bar, helpful and friendly staff. We ended up staying an extra night and so did another couple we met, as it is so nice and relaxing here.

Absolutely loved my stay at Samon's Village! Incredibly beautiful and peaceful location on the river; great, rustic bungalow and lovely staff! Spacious deck with good vibe to chill and great food! Perfect place to rest, relax and recharge - nice mix of travelers (nationalities, ages, types of travelers etc.) and away from the busy/hectic city (still walkable though or close/easy with tuk tuk).

Nice little place on the river. Clean, staff is great, value is fantastic. More of an older reserved crowd as opposed to a backpack hostel

Samon's Village is located a short tuk tuk ride ($2) from Kampot centre and provides basic but comfortable accommodation. It's best feature is the peaceful bar/eating area directly on the river where you can relax and enjoy the views with a cold beer. I stayed during a Cambodian festival time so services including food were limited. The staff however did their best to make my stay a pleasant one and were friendly and helpful.

Nice place to chill, tuk tuk cheap to get into the centre of Kampot. Nice view of the lake from the communal area / restaurant bit.

Beautiful view over the river and a great bar and food in the restaurant. However we felt this place had seen better days and in need of some up keep.

My belongings were infested with ants within a couple hours of checking in. The room was dirty, sheets ripped, mosquito net ripped. There was a dead bug on the bed which was being infested and eaten by ants. After I saw this, I decided to switch hostels. The owner still made me pay for that night which is upsetting because I didn't sleep there. Besides this issue, the staff were generally nice and the lunch I had was tasty. Location is right on the river.
