Hostelworld says

Sant Jordi Sagrada Familia is 'the perfect place for young travellers looking to party', according to Hostelworld guests, as well as those who want a quiet night in. This very clean, modern hostel has been highly praised by our reviewers for their friendly staff, who organise nightly entertainment; one guest said 'we definitely would not have had as much fun if we had not stayed there'. We've noticed that many of our users extend their stay at this hostel. There's a personal shelf, power outlet and light for every bed, and we particularly like that there's a supermarket across the street and a large, fully equipped kitchen.

Property Description

Registration Number AJ000517
Sant Jordi Sagrada Familia hostel is a Barcelona skateboarders paradise! This is the best hostel for skateboarders, street-artists and anyone with interest in the urban arts, culture and lifestyle of Barcelona.

Awarded by Hostelworld customers 2nd Best Hostel In Spain November 2011 and, as one of the hostels in the Sant Jordi Hostels Chain, 2nd Best Hostel Chain Worldwide 2010, Hostel Sagrada Familia has set the standard for Barcelona hostels. The first Barcelona hostel designed around the Barcelona skateboard and urban arts and culture scene, our Sagrada Familia hostel is taking what backpackers expect from a hostel to the next level. Come find out what makes Barcelona one of the most artistically vibrant and alternative-oriented cities in Europe today.

We have a Triple en suite, 4 en suite, 6 - 8 - 10 - and 12 - bed mixed dorms with comfortable well-built bunk-beds (linen included) & A/C.
All bed dorms are spacious with private lockers and external windows.
The hostel has numerous individual, private showers and separate toilet facilities always with hot water.

The communal kitchen is in the downstairs common area and includes two large refrigerators, one oven, three separate stove tops, three microwaves, and all the utensils and dishware necessary for cooking most meals.

Our large, modern common area is open 24 hours and has eight computers with free internet and Wi-Fi, a kitchen, a large chill-out area, a big screen TV with a huge selection of movies and tons of comfortable corners to relax alone or meet up with friends.

In our chill-out room we even have a skate-ramp inspired stage that can be used for dancing, karaoke, or just about any other performance you can think of. Our hostel is all about good times and social atmosphere.

In our common room, the best thing to do is relax, be yourself and enjoy the international environment. You are almost guaranteed to make new friends from all over the world. Our common area is downstairs, away from where people sleep and is open 24 hours. This means our guests always have a choice between a social atmosphere and a good night's rest.

We also have a large outdoor private patio area, open during the day and accessible by all guests. It is perfect for barbeques, laying-out, or reading a book.

We are well-located in a popular local area, away from the craziness of the city centre and just a short walk from the best site in Barcelona, Antoni Gaudi's famous Sagrada Familia Cathedral. We are also extremely well connected to all the main tourist attractions of Barcelona. With two metro lines, the L2 (Purple) and L5 (Blue), a few blocks from the hostel, you can be anywhere in Barcelona (by metro) in under 15 minutes. Also, with three night-bus lines that stop within three blocks of the hostel you don't have to worry about how to get home at night, no matter what the hour.

For the party lovers, several nights a week we organize huge group parties where we take all of the guests out on the town to experience the world-famous bar and club scene of Barcelona. Our guests come from all over the world and all want the same thing: to have a good time, meet new people and explore an amazing city. We are famous for our parties and this is the best way to experience the renowned night-life of Barcelona and get to know some of the other guests in the hostel. We are professionals and this is our job, so come along and enjoy the fun!

Our young and friendly staff speak English and Spanish and will provide you with maps and all the information you will need or want - sightseeing, transportation, restaurants, nightlife and more. As we are travellers like you, we know what you want out of a hostel and will do all we can to make you feel comfortable and make your stay in Barcelona unforgettable.

Was a great hostel, with great atmosphere, and finally after 3 month trip I met there Israeli people. I had there some amazing memories, Super recommended! אם תישראלי אתם חייבים ללכת להוסטל החייתי הזה! אנשים מדהימים ופשוט כיף חיים!

It was great at first because they do have a lot of amenities and the staff at first were very polite. But as my stay dragged on (I felt this is the best word to use), the staff, particularly the night staff, were very rude and literally wouldn’t let you make a creek... but they were able to make as much noise as possible. The all you can eat breakfast is not friendly to any diet types except the average American’s. Frieda, one of the front desk people, was great.

The staff at the hostel were very blunt and unfriendly. They refused to allow us to use their bike rental service on 2 occasions which was a massive let down to us. Privacy was way less than what the money I paid should have got me. I paid 150 for 2 nights in a PRIVATE TWIN room, and ended up sharing a flat with 11 people during that time. Also, during mid July in 30 degree celc. at night our room had no fan or air con and we were told that we were not allowed to have windows open past 10 pm.

Sant Jordi Sagrada Familia says

I think what makes us super special is our modern facilities and alternative skateboard-inspired décor. We have tons of extras, too, like our cool organized parties, free internet and Wi-Fi, city maps, laundry facilities and much more.
We're in a great location, too, I think. There's a supermarket just in front of our hostel and we're just a few minutes from La Sagrada Familiar cathedral, the Hospital de Sant Pau and Agbar tower. I also recommend that visitors check out Encants, an amazing local open-air market.
I'd say most of our guests are aged between 18 and 35. We cater for people special needs and/or disabilities and we have an elevator that provides access to the 1st and 2nd floors. Silvia, Group Manager
