Fantastic! Except for the Israeli soldier staying in our room, trying not to suffocate him was hard. Apart from that it was 10/10.

The hostel is great! Very nice and clean. The breakfast was good and the staff are very helpful. I had two problems - the room was very small (we took a double room) and didn't contain a full body mirror. The second problem was a huge cathedral behind the hostle - it works from 8am to 11pm - and it's loud. Overall good place, I've liked it and would recommend it for a friend.

    Very Good

Stayed for 3 nights in a 10 bed dorm, the dorm was on the fourth floor up a lot of very steep steps which makes it hard when you have luggage. There is no communal area which makes it hard to meet people, I was very lucky and had some great roommates but it was hard as a solo traveller. The bar underneath the hostel is great, cheap drinks and an awesome atmosphere. The room was a decent size with comfy beds and relatively clean, my room had two toilets and two showers which was great.

Cons: I'm 5'2 and my locker closed on me so many times I had to change and pay AGAIN. There were big DISGUSTING boogers on the walls of my bunk, + a huge yellow stain on the blanket. No hand soap in the 2 bottles. The cages under the bed made so much noise. It smelled weird and it was so humid I thought my blanket was still wet. Pros: Okay overall, staff helped with my luggage since my room was on the 3rd floor with really steep steps. Good location near the train station.

I stayed at the St Christopher hostel in Paris and loved my time there. Rooms were clean, beds were great, the staff was welcoming and a great atmosphere to meet people. However the experience in Amsterdam was not the same. The staff was never rude but did not seem.to enjoy their jobs and did not create the same level of hospitality. The bathroom was located in the dorm room which made the rooms very humid in the mornings and there was mold in the shower. Disappointing experience on the whole.

I am very unhappy with the service at this hostel. I got charged more than the confirmation email stated and when I asked why they said it was an additional deposit, but I never got any of my money back. When contacting the staff of the hostel they wouldn't give me a proper answer, telling me that "you didn't pay more than you were supposed to be". I payed in cash! Very unprofessional. Also the balcony door was broken and kept opening during the night, it was too loud and not very hygienic. BAD

St Christopher's at The Winston says

One of the things that makes our hostel unique is that we invite various upcoming designers to decorate each of our rooms with weird and interesting themes. None of our rooms look the same, and you could be sleeping in a movie-themed room, a psychedelic room or even a sex-oriented room!

We have a very interesting team here at The Winston, with staff from several countries, in several age-groups. It's a nicely mixed bunch of people.

We have the Red Light District in our backyard and lots of coffee shops, restaurants and crazy little shops are around us. Add to that a bar and a nightclub which are in our building on the ground floor, and you have all the ingredients to have a great time in Amsterdam. If you'd like to relax or see the interesting sights in Amsterdam, most options are on walking distance or a few minutes by tram.
