It has a magnificent view on the top but you have to take a long staircase as it is situated on top of a mountain. But the staff is really helpful and the breakfast is great! I'm enjoying my stay there

Superb hostel!! Beware that it is located a bit of a hike up a hill, but the views of the city are phenomenal, and the breakfast room even has a beautiful panorama of the city. Really one of the coolest hostels I've ever stayed at. Really chill and relaxed staff too.

The hostel was lovely and a typical breakfast with coffee was included. The only downside was that you have to travel up through the mountain to reach the hostel. This costs visitors an addition €2.4. If this had been mentioned before it would have been fine, but because I had no idea it was frustrating

Amazing view and atmosphere. If you ever wanted to live in the watch tower of the old city wall this is the place. There is a restaurant on the ground floor so public space is limited unfortunately.

My one wish was that there was a common area that guests could use. Without this, you only have your own bedroom, making it more difficult to meet other travelers and guests of the hostel. Otherwise, love Stadtalm and would definitely book again.

Hostel was in a beautiful area, on top of Salzburg and the view was amazing. The actual place however, wasn’t that great. They are only open certain times so you can’t have early or late check in/check out. When we arrived to check in we had to wait for the restaurant staff to help us (wasn’t obvious who to speak too). Our booking hadn’t been acknowledged and wasn’t showing on their system. They put us in a room because luckily there was space but we had to move rooms throughout our stay.

This hostel was a nightmare to find! I ended up on an unlit path in the middle of nowhere, as it got dark with absolutely no idea where the hostel is all while by myself as a solo female traveller. When I rang the hostel they just laughed and told me I shouldn't have used the street address. So note - follow the signs to the lookout of the same name as the hostel. Also extremely rude staff, super dark walk to the hostel at night. Not worth it for the view, you can just go to the museum lookout.
