The Grapevine Hostel is conveniently located, easy to find, and simple but great for a night or two. The hosts were lovely and the kitchen well-stocked. As we came just as the management had changed, I am hesitant to be critical, but the shower and shower curtain in our room could have done with a deep cleaning, and there is definitely room for some flourishes (side-table, artwork). Thanks for having us and best of luck!

Can't give a thorough review as I had a very short stay at the hostel, just needed a bed for the night and was leaving at 6.30 am. The location is perfect, right in town just off the main street. Staff were friendly and checked me in late. Room was nice and warm and really comfy bed. Seemed like there was a nice vibe but didn't get a chance to socialise as I had to leave early.

You get what you pay. Cheap but room felt a bit moldy. Good kitchen and nice staff. No lockers in room. Central location.

I wish my review could be as glowing as others but it's not. Our bathroom was not clean, the sink and shower were full of hair and dirty towels thrown on the ground, the staff member said she was going to clean the bathroom while we were out but never did (we were gone till 11pm so plenty of time given). The hostel was so noisy we got max 2 hours sleep due to other guests roaring and fighting outside our room at 4am with guitar and singing until 2.30am, no staff present to control the noise.

The kitchen and living room of The Grapevine Hostel is small, but welcoming, with a lively atmosphere and good kitchen. However, the bedrooms are sub-par. I booked an ensuite shared room but was given a room with no ensuite; the room was very sparse: a single bed and a bunk bed with nothing else. The door didn't lock and the window had a large amount of black mould around it, the duvets and pillows were also very thin.

After arriving late, around 9 pm, we called to the lady to let us in. She was defensive and kind of rude to us. She gave us room with 8 . The toilet was blocked with excrement. Tried to flush twice but it did not flush. Calling the lady, she was being rude asking us what she shall do about this now and that the cleaner was there before our arrival. She did not give us another solution apart from using another bathroom in a different floor. Next morning she did not even apologise.
