Hostelworld says

We like the very central location of Wombats City Hostel Budapest, just a block from Andrássy utca and five minutes from a metro station serving three lines going to Buda, the airport stop and the three main train stations. This friendly, clean hostel opened in 2012 in a former hotel. It features spacious ensuite rooms with free air conditioning, free welcome drinks for guests and a budget-friendly all-you-can-eat breakfast with yoghurt, fruit and good bread.

Great location ...easy to get to from main train station via the blue line. Cost about $1 USD. Also great location to get red line to Keleti for departure to Vienna. Very clean. Great staff.only issue is now towels in bathroom near entrance at all for Men’s restroom ..ridiculous. No dryer either. They do give a free towel which is nice. Easy tram to Gellert Baths from here. Easy tram to Rudas Baths, easy metro to Szechenyi Baths. Super convenient location

The hostel location is very central and you have a lot of restaurants and pubs very close to it. The walk to the bus/tram stops and the subway is quite short. The rooms were clean, regular dorm rooms. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and had really good suggestions. Would definitely recommend!

The hostel provided night events which were nice to some extents, but two of the roommates came back drunk and puked everywhere, smelled awful. It didn’t allow early checkin even there were empty beds in the rooms. This troubled me as I had an overnight bus journey and desperately wanted a shower and grabbing some sleep. I did have a break at the common room, with lots of noise around unfortunately. Other than that, everything was fine. Staff ws friendly, welcoming drinks/breakfast was great.

Execellent hostel, id highly recommend, it really has everything. Great location, so many good food places nearby. Beds are really comfortable and the rooms are very spacious. Only issue was the bathrooms in the rooms weren’t as clean as preferred, but I’d recommend bringing flip flops and you should be fine.

Perfectly located hostel close to tourist attractions and nightlife. Big hostel so there are always lots of people there. Despite this, the bar was always empty and was hard to meet new people there. A pub crawl behind from the hostel every night which is a good way to meet new people. Lots of delicious food nearby.

was a solid hostel, as are most won't hostels. the staff were not the best, they were quite rude to me for no reason and it didn't make me feel welcomed at all. but aside from that a good hostelz not the best atmosphere at the location but if u go out on one of tge bar crawls or other events u will have a good time

From all the wombats I have stayed so far, this is the worse. I have always stayed in wombats where there happen to exist and come back but maybe not after this stay. Staff was not that nice, didn’t seem to bother with our complains or suggestions. The room was big and clean but the smell of damp in it was terrible, you could see in one of the walls the paint coming off from it. And the noise from the water pipes whenever someone used the bathroom at night was able to wake you. So not impressed.

This wombats is probably the worst one I've stayed at in Melbourne. The bathroom in my room smelt strongly of urine and mould it was almost unbearable. Happy hour at the bar and the bartender didn't know how to make some of the drinks advertised? I didn't feel much of a vibe at all, and the breakfast WOW do not believe the sign in which they advertise what is there, they didn't even have cheese! Only positive was location and that the room didn't have aircon. Will not recommend to anyone.

Wombats City Hostel Budapest says

I think what's really unique about us is that this was a pretty good hotel before we upgraded it to a Wombats , so it comes with some amenities you don´t typically find in a hostel, like really big rooms, a/c, nice en suite facilities (even with hairdryers) and amply dimensioned common areas. It´s the biggest hostel in town, so guaranteed never boring. And the house is run by a really, really enthusiastic team.
We're one block from Andrassy utca (Budapest's version of the Champs Elysse), the main cathedral is just around the corner and the history city centre is a ten-minute walk away. Walk in the other direction and you're in the middle of the most lively nightlife area. Personally I recommend hitting Corvintetö, a superb rooftop club not far away. The langos shop next to the entrance is ridiculously good (and cheap), too.
Most of our guests are twentysomethings. Budapest offers excellent nightlife and is very cheap, so it attracts a lot of people who intend to indulge in it. Klaus, CFO Wombats
