About

Eplet Bed & Apple is a small guesthouse, hostel and working farm in the village of Solvorn, in the heart of the Sognefjord region of Western Norway.

Most guests use Eplet as a base for hiking, cycling, glacier trips, kayaking and exploring the villages around the fjord. The Molden hike, Urnes Stave Church, Feigefossen waterfall and Nigardsbreen glacier are all within easy reach.

Eplet has welcomed travellers since 2004. What started as a small backpacker hostel has gradually become a guesthouse for couples, families and independent travellers looking for a more personal and relaxed way of travelling. Many guests stay 4–7 nights to explore the region at a slower pace.

Guests stay in private rooms, a 7-bed dormitory or at our small campsite for tents. There are two shared kitchens, a cosy living room, a large garden with hammocks and plenty of outdoor space overlooking the fjord.

Eplet is also a small farm and juice producer. Throughout the season we harvest fruit and berries and make our own juice in the cellar. Our farm shop sells homemade juice, eggs from our hens and seasonal produce. When staying at Eplet, you are staying at a place that is part of everyday life in the village.

The atmosphere is informal and international. Some guests spend their days in the mountains or on the glacier, while others stay in the garden with a book, a cup of coffee and a view of the fjord.

Public transport connections are good, including daily summer buses to Nigardsbreen glacier. If you have questions about transport or activities, just ask us.

We are open from 20 April to 20 September.

Eplet is one of the most charming places I've ever stayed at. It's clean, cozy, and run by the sweetest family. The view of the fjord is absolutely stunning, and their orchard is beautiful as well. I recommend taking the ferry across the fjord and going to the incredible Urnes stave church and Feigefossen waterfall. I also really enjoyed hiking Molden. There aren't a lot of options for restaurants in the area (which is actually a blessing in disguise since it helps you save money), but the kitchen is well s

A lovely hostel with a view of the village and fjord, just down the hill. It was very clean and comfortable, making it nice to have breakfast or dinner looking out. Everything was very sensibly and functionally organized and the hosts couldn't have been nicer. There were only two other parties when we were there so it was calm and relaxed. We don't usually stay in hostels and the only downside was only one bathroom with shower, which might be a problem with more people but was another toilet.
