What an amazing place with such character. The hostel was very cool, interesting: multi-level wooden structure with rooms and lounges hidden away as in the bowels of an old sailing ship, buckets repurposed as wash basins and walls adourned with rastafarian art of some kind. And David was the perfect host - very helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend his hostel!

I only stayed for 1 night at roots but I wish I could have stayed longer. The owner is extremely helpful, kind and a super chill guy. The hostel has amazing views for sunrise and sunset plus lots to do and see nearby. Good options for food are a very short walk away and the bus stop is right outside the hostel for easy access to Gualaca etc. can’t recommend enough. It is a rustic feel so do not expect a resort but it was one of my coolest experiences in Panama.
