About

From the moment you enter our mini oasis, you will be immersed in exquisite nature. Paths wind in and
out through lush jungle flora where dorms and rooms nestle in privacy. Best of all is the ever-present
sound of the surf. The beach lies directly in front of our place and it is breathtaking.

Whether you are writing a novel, re-inventing yourself, or just plain chilling out, we are here for you.

Take a sweet walk at sunrise, get your toes wet in the warm Caribbean Sea and then lie in a hammock
and dream. Swinging gently again at sunset with a cold drink in your hand in that same hammock can be
life changing. Far from the hustle of cities and stress, we have dedicated ourselves to offering you a tiny
bit of heaven.

Our outdoor restaurant is casual and fun while offering a variety of elegant cuisine and the best collection
of craft beers on the entire coast. It extends to tables under the palms and sand dancing under the stars.
Who needs shoes ever again!

We arrived from an intense city life and found this tiny piece of paradise and we'd love to share it with
you.

Our Playa 506 is one of the most spectacular values on the this side of the coast. Located in the serene
little village of Cocles, it is only 2km walk or bike ride into the lively town of Puerto Viejo.
We entertain a unique concept: backpacker boutique. Our credo is this: We believe that true value is
not necessarily one size fits all. Everyone should have the opportunity to create his or her unique
experience from basic backpacker to 5-star amenities.

We begin with a backpacker option. For those with adventure on a mouse budget, backpacker dorms of
8 lie down one path. The beds have individual privacy curtains and lockers for stashing secure items.
Fans cool the space down on muggy nights.

We also offer private rooms with fan or A/C, with shared or private bathrooms. Each is designed for a
particular traveler's comfort and budget. A fully equipped kitchen is provided in the dorm area for those
who wish to self-cater. Ever present coffee is on board 24 hours, and there is a cool table for dining
casually.

We also have a wonderful European trained chef on board to proffer incredible cuisine with a menu that
truly dazzles. It starts with guacamole and platanos, meanders through salads, homemade raviolis and
humble veggie burgers to a seared pan fried fish en toto just to mention a few. All ingredients are fresh
and most are organic. Our bar offers the best collection of crafted brews on the coast. And did we
mention wines? One of our associates is a trained vintner who selects from around the world.

A surprise! Our chef is a master of flambé. He is dying to present his famous flaming dishes on the sand
under the stars, lighting up the ever-present surf.

So there is something for everyone from budget to extravagant dazzle, and why not? One size definitely
does not fit all.

We also offer bikes for rent and wonderfully unique tours including waterfalls, mountains, and horseback
riding on the beach. A few meters down the beach, the river meets the sea. It offers splendid kayaking
and water yoga AND there are no crocodiles. By the way, a crocodile free river is rare in Costa Rica.
We have a sloth named Flash, who lives in the rafters of our restaurant. He is our resident
ambassador.

So come experience our blending of cultures and life styles intermixed with our own piece of heaven.

Great place. A bit far away from the city, but if you rent bikes it is fine. Super nice that it is so close to the beach - also, the atmosphere is great, so nice people.

Rooms are a little small but beds are comfy and private with curtain. Kitchen was big and lots of pots/pans etc. I liked that it was right on the beach so it’s nice to chill for a few days. Only thing is if you want to go on a night out you have to uber into the centre.

The WORST hostel I have ever stayed at. Awful value for money in the first place but it was the only place available at short notice when the Selina was closed (also avoid this). The room smelled so bad and there was a cockroach in the bed. Not friendly AT ALL. The worst was the fact however that they refused to give us money back when we cut the stay short due to bugs in the bed and have since added a random charge to my bank when we weren’t even in the hostel.
