Summary of traveller reviews

a&o Hostel Venezia Mestre offers a convenient location near Mestre train station, ideal for exploring Venice. While many find the rooms clean and comfortable, some recent feedback highlights issues with cleanliness in bathrooms and non-functional charging ports. The hostel is best suited for budget travellers seeking easy access to public transport.

There was a charger on each bunk which did not work and neither did the individual lights. The only passable place to charge your electronics was in the lobby downstairs. Although a quiet time was advertised, other guests did not respect this, as people were coming back into the room between 11pm and 12:30am and slamming doors and turning main lights on. Upon leaving we asked to use the luggage room and was told two different reasons -guests could only use on day of arrival and it was full.

Very corporate. My requests via email “would be forwarded to the reception team” who never received them. The place is a retrofitted hotel, odd social vibe. Why am I paying 25 euro if I am checking in myself, making the bed myself.. where’s that money going - the off shore customer service department?

I stayed only one night so don't know about facilities. I tried to do self check-in but the machine did not take the id photo a few times so the staff checked me in from his computer. I know there was a complimentary coffee and when I told him he said it was only for self checkin but i asked it from him and he just said "no you can't have it". I don't think that is good customer service for the hostel. The lamp and the charge usb did not work for my bed.
