Atacama Backpackers is a new hostel in the heart of Providencia. We are in a classic building but with a fresh a new design! Hostel has private rooms and shared dorms. Also has community kitchen and common areas with Wifi. Atacama Backpackers offers:


- Wi-Fi;
- Fully-equipped kitchen;
- Cable TV in double bed private rooms with bathroom and some single beds shared bath;
- Hot water 24 hours;
- Baggage storage;



We are close to Providencia avenue, from 3 blocks to Manuel Montt and Salvador Metro Station. In addition, from our facilities you can reach some of the best and finest attractions and landmarks of the city such as Plaza de la Aviación, Cerro San Cristobal, Monumento a Manuel Rodríguez and Palacio de la Moneda, amongst other things.

We have single rooms with shared bathroom, double rooms ensuite and shared dorms. Some private single rooms has TV and also all double rooms. In addition, we have several common areas where the guests and travellers can get together and exchange past experiences and future plans.

Great location. However, they had a rude staff member named Julio who was complaining about my booking. I had paid for three nights, and he wanted more money and threatened to throw me out because he believed I "threatened him" and they don't accept that. He later let me stay, proving that he was accusing me on false premises. The toilets were often without paper, and there wasn't enough cleaning.

The amazing staff makes you feel right at home, and they’re the reason we’ve returned three times ❤️. Super clean and very relaxed. A modest but comfortable hostel with everything you need: outdoors area, kitchen, laundry. The area is very safe, and it's conveniently close to the metro, parks, shops, and restaurants. Checked all my boxes. Highly recommend!

Staff were very friendly, but overall the hostel was disappointing. The kitchen is very limited and breakfast time feels uncomfortable due to staff being territorial. There are no real social spaces. Our private room was mostly clean but had hair on the bedding and stained towels/sheets. We stayed four nights and only had one hot shower, the water was mostly cold. It’s also very noisy due to traffic. Despite the nice staff, I wouldn’t recommend staying here ☹️
