Casa Rosa Hostel is one of the first houses to be built in Guatape a little over 200 years ago. We have converted the old house into a hostel keeping the original layout, the inner patio now has a huge 'tent' over it to provide a lovely al fresco common area. Be sure to try our own homemade jam for breakfast. We are not a party hostel but we are located on a road with many bars and disco techs if you like to dance. During weekends and holidays the town is much more lively.
Casa Rosa is perfectly located, just 40 metres from the main square and 100 metres from the bus stop. No lugging your heavy backpacks for miles or having to squeeze into tuk tuks or taxis.
Guatape, the town of many colours, most of the houses in the town have painted or sculpted friezes along the bottom of their facades. These can depict the profession, establishment business, owners belief or as in our case a little something to catch ones attention. There is also of course the huge man made lake that borders the town, this provides many activities for the visitor, fishing, boating, jet ski, paddle boarding, and pleasure boat excursions.
We use quality mattresses and bedding, although most backpackers are on a budget we feel that giving quality bedding as well as charging points, reading lights.
