My stay at La Casa de Maruja BB was amazing. I arrived really early after a night bus and the staff were there to greet me right away and allowed me to store my things and check in super early. While I was trekking they kept my belongings safe. Breakfast every morning is made to order for you and dinner is available upon request as well. Upon my return from the trek I was able to use the shared facilities on the rooftop while I waited to depart on a late bus. In short, I couldn’t recommend more!

Genuinely one of the best experiences we’ve had backpacking in almost a year. This B&B feels more like a homestay than a hostel. We were so well looked after with a delicious breakfast every morning and great value dinner in the evening, plus constant hot water - it’s the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for home comforts in Huaraz. The whole family are lovely and Gilf is a mountaineer with decades of experience so can help you with local walks as well as organising tours too!

Stay here and support a local family!! Maruja is such a wonderful host. Their dinner is so accomodating to your needs. They can helphelp organize hikes and Gilf also guides treks in the area - wish I wouldve known earlier, but I will be back to go with them. Travel into el centro is easy (2 soles collectivo or 7 taxi/uber) but if youre there to hike, location doesnt matter much anyways. I got sick at the end of my trip and Maruja helped care for me which is so lovely as a solo female traveler
