Welcome to The Pelican House 🌿🌊
The Pelican House is located on El Almejal Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on Colombia’s Pacific coast, in El Valle, Chocó, near Bahía Solano. We are about 25 minutes walking from the village, in a magical place between the jungle and the ocean.
This is a place to slow down, breathe, and reconnect. You can walk straight to the beach, go surfing, rest in a hammock, listen to the rain, the waves and the jungle, or simply do nothing. We also have excellent internet, so it’s a perfect place to work remotely without losing the connection to nature.
We offer several cozy chill-out areas, a handmade jungle gym, and many quiet corners to read, write, stretch or just be.
🛏️ Accommodation
We offer:
• 4 shared dorm rooms with 5 beds each
• 2 private cabins for couples with private bathroom
• 1 private cabin for up to 4 people with private bathroom
All our rooms are surrounded by nature, and some of them have beautiful jungle or ocean views. We also have lockers and an outdoor shower for after the beach.

The Pelican House is not only a place to stay — it’s a home to share. We are a small community where people often cook together, eat together, share stories, laugh, and create simple moments that turn into beautiful memories.
Guests can use our fully equipped kitchen, enjoy our bar, borrow books from our small library, and join our movie nights. In our garden we grow fruits, vegetables and herbs that we love to share.
We work with trusted local guides and can help you organize experiences like whale watching, Utría National Park, waterfalls, jungle walks and more.
The Pelican House is run by two partners and shared with two dogs and two cats who are part of the soul of the place.
More than a hostel, this is a small sanctuary between the jungle and the sea — a place to rest, surf, create, work, and feel at home 🤍
The Pelican House Conditions and Policies:
Cancellation policy: 24h before arrival.
Check in from 12:00m to 10:00PM.
Check out from 07:00 to 11:00.
Payment upon arrival by cash.
Taxes not included - 19.00% for residents in Colombia. Foreigners are exempt from taxis.
Breakfast not included.
General:
Reception open 7:00am to 10:30pm.
No curfew.
