Pagalu Hostel is a cozy hostel located in the town of Puerto Viejo, from where it is possible to walk everywhere or rent a bicycle to discover the beautiful surroundings and beaches in the area.

The hostel has a beautiful common area with a fully equipped open kitchen and gardens. You can choose between different types of rooms with or without air conditioning: 4-bed dorms, 6-bed dorms or double rooms with private or shared bathroom. All dormitories are mixed. Additionally, hot water is available and towels are included.

Departure before 11:00.

Payment upon arrival in cash, credit cards, debit cards.
Taxes not included - 13% will be charged.

WiFi pretty poor couldn’t stream World Cup. Beds don’t have curtains, or a decent ladder to climb up them if you are on a top bunk, which was assigned to me without a choice despite it being quiet in the hostel. The dorms also didn’t have a lock so anyone could walk in. They don’t the paper towels near sinks and one of the toilets doesn’t have soap, they need to focus on attention to detail to improve. Some of the staff could improve their English too, given it is an international space.

Nice staff. Clean kitchen. Good location. I do feel it was a bit overpriced, but that’s just part of Costa Rica. Clean bathroom. Good AC and a Comfortable bed.

Great hostel. Not much of a social atmosphere, it's more relaxed which is totally fine. The facilities were great and very clean. They rent out towels for free which is great. Good location. The only thing is that the beds could use some curtains.
