About

Malacuna Liverpool is welcoming, it’s vibrant, and it is proudly unique.
Perfectly located within this iconic port city, Malacuna Liverpool is a convenient distance from many of the city’s highlights and transport links. The city centre and Lime Street Station are both just a short walk away, as is the Knowledge Quarter. Slightly further afield but still not far, you’ll find Liverpool’s most creative neighbourhood, the Baltic Triangle. Populated by galleries, street art, food establishments and bars, this is the place where creatives and innovators push boundaries.
In addition to a comfy bed for you to crash in, we have carefully designed rooms, a coffee shop, and a range of onsite programming and events. We’ve got a bar where you can link up with like-minded travellers and locals, oh yeah, and a secret beer garden which offers fantastic views of this beautiful city.
Speaking of nightlife, Liverpool is renowned for a reason. Whether it is the celebrated Mathew Street or a cocktail down on Albert Dock, a night out in Liverpool is a rite of passage for anyone who likes to party. Night out or night in, we’ve got you sorted at Malacuna Hostel Liverpool.

Hostel is in an excellent location, within walking distance to the town centre. Unfortunately the hostel itself could be better. I was in one of the basement rooms which had no hot water. The bathroom light was temperamental and the bathroom itself wasn’t particularly clean. I understand they are renovating this part of the hostel so that could be why. Storage cupboard was inside the bed itself so not ideal. One staff member didn’t seem that friendly but he did give me a free towel

No wardrobes or rails in the room for clothing, very noisy building work going on right outside the room from 8am onwards. Heating was not working in my room for the entire stay due to said building work, so the room was very cold. My card also stopped working for my room multiple times and I had to go down to reception to reset it.

Front desk was impatient, unhelpful. My door key never worked, tried asking for help 3 times but they ghosted me so I decided I’d just stay the night then leave. The bed was very comfy and the room was dark. I wouldn’t come again but in an emergency it’s good enough.
