About

We are a cute, cozy, and chill family run hostel. Guests consider us unique because we actively operate and we are not party hostel; we are on the top rated hostel in the city

Since 2018 Guaya was envisioned to be a chill & healing beautiful place and every day we do something to make it prettier. We are the closest hostel from the Merida bus station and 10 minutes' walk from our beautiful city downtown. Probably you will meet our family and our cute dog Coco. Our extended family is formed by our long-time collaborators and, as you the guests we are lucky to host.

Come and join us; we love to sit and hear your story.

I loved staying at Guaya, very peaceful, the owners are wonderful people and everyone I met I enjoyed their company. I would definitely go back there if ever in Merida again

Sarah, Rune, and Pepe were all super nice. The girls dorm is a nice size and had an attached restroom. The building is colonial in style and some parts show their age. The breakfast was good. Just make sure you wear mosquito repellent because they are horrible in the entire city when near any plants.

Guaya Hostel is a peaceful, family-run place — perfect for relaxing, recovering, and reconnecting. Santiago, Sara, and Ale make you feel at home with calm vibes, cozy hammocks, a tranquil courtyard, and a free homemade breakfast every morning. It’s not a party hostel — it’s something deeper. A safe space to slow down, breathe, and feel human again. Guests come for a few days and end up staying longer. If you’re in Mérida and need peace, Guaya is that place. #GuayaHealingHostel #MaconItMatter
