Welcome to Hotel J Unawatuna. We’re a tropical budget hotel in the sunny south of Sri Lanka, brought to you by Jetwing Hotels – our family at the home of Sri Lankan hospitality.

Hotel J Unawatuna is situated just ten minutes walking distance from the palm-lined beaches and turquoise waters of Unawatuna Bay and just 6 km away from the historic city of Galle. It is a peaceful yet buzzing retreat that is environmentally conscious and aims to be the first plastic-free hotel in Sri Lanka.

Hotel more than a hostel. Very friendly accommodating staff and the rooms are very clean with very comfy beds, warm shower and a dressing table. We were lucky to get a room to ourselves as it was quiet. Absolutely no social side to it at all and felt a bit of ghost town but was nice to relax here with the pool.

Least favourite hostel in Sri Lanka - I left a night early. I found the atmosphere at the hotel to be really hostile. The staff weren’t very friendly or helpful, they were at times very rude. It was expensive and the food was awful - gave my food poisoning. They didn’t clear out the room when people left until someone else booked so was constantly messy. There is nowhere to chill by the pool. Not near the beach or restaurants in the area. The only good thing about the place is the AC.
