Gregory House

Gregory House is a simple and cozy homestay hostel located overlooking Gregory Lake. We got one mixed Dorm with 3 bunk beds (6 beds) and 4 other private rooms. It’s a perfect place to rest and wind down, with plenty of outdoor areas. The house is fully decorated with natural indoor plants along with cane comfort furniture for travelers to get the tropical feel with a spectacular view of Gregory Lake and its surrounding mountains. Our glass room is the best place to chill, which is adorned with cane lampshades, hanging plants, and cozy lights, this is the space where travelers gather for a chill beer and for a BBQ.

It's just a Fifteen-minutes walk to the city center, which offers plenty of tourist attractions in the surroundings such as the Victoria Botanical Garden, Tea Fields, Tea Factories, the Red Post office, Moon Plains, and the Water Falls.

The bunk bedroom is spacious with six wooden beds, with 6 inches mattress along with a duvet to keep you warm all night. We have fitted with personal lighting and an electric socket for every bunk bed, so it becomes the perfect environment to relax after a long day. Most importantly the toilet for the Dorm room is attached and it's only for Bunk bed Travelers. Apart, for other travelers who want some privacy and yet wanted to mingle with the hostel community, then the standard lake-view rooms with attached Toilets are perfect for them. All the Toilets are with Hot water showers, so you don’t need to worry about your evening showers. Our cozy living areas are with some locally sourced cane furniture, which brings in the local vibe to the Sri Lankan style together with comfort.
Manoj our in-house chef and caretaker, is ever ready to provide our travelers with delicious, comforting, meals throughout their stay, and best of all the Breakfast and the WiFI is Free. Feel free to join us for a cooking session with Manoj and Guests are also allowed to share the Kitchen (If it's heavy cooking, we might charge a small amount, as the LP gas in Sri Lanka is expensive now).
We also gather for a campfire and for BBQ mostly when the hostel is crowded.

Your stay at Gregory House will no doubt will be memorable, comfortable, and relaxing, as our cozy homestay kind of a hostel experience is a budget-friendly stay for backpackers. We do hire Scoters and arrange Tuk Tuk for station pick up/ drop and also speak to us to arrange your Hortain plains tour as well. See you’ll soon
