The Reserve is a one hectare territory full of biodiversity, with 210 species of plants, 40 of birds, 67 of fungi, 99 of butterflies, 42 of spiders, 3 of frogs, 50 of lichens and 30 of insects identified so far. With a creek and 6 small waterfalls, the natural music is very relaxing. We have 3952 books organized in 15 thematic libraries, 4 museums, rock pathways within the 4 forests, green roofs, and a net to watch the stars.
Only an hour by car or bus from Bogotá, in Choachí, this 12,000 year old municipality was recognized by the World Tourism Organization as top in Colombia for rural and sustainable tourism, and top 6 world wide. With La Chorrera, the largest waterfall in the country and thermal waters, Choachi has dozens of attractions. We welcome visitors from diverse origins, interests, ages and preferences.
The rooms and cabins are decorated with original art masterpieces and handicrafts, and they are bioconstructions made with wood, adobe, rammed earth and baroque. From very basic to sophisticated in the decor, we offer diversity for our diverse visitors. We have 10 bathrooms, 6 of which are dry bathrooms. The common spaces - Oval Room, Agora, and Abrazo del Arbol are generous and surprising. We have a Cave for romantic dinners. A visitor said - 'this is the real Disney.'
