Waru Homestay in Kuta Lombok offers a fantastic value stay with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Guests appreciate the clean, comfortable rooms and the peaceful atmosphere. While it's a bit outside the centre, it's easily accessible, especially with a scooter, and close to beaches.

Rooms were dirty and some rats running around the ceiling at night. The location is a bit far from the main part of town. The staff is very unorganized. One lady there tried to kick me out after one night even though I booked for 3 nights. Took about 20 minutes of explaining and having to get the owner on the phone because she wouldn’t believe me even though I showed her the booking dates (also cash only.)

It was basic, but for the price it was okay. The rooms were freshly painted, although unfortunately some mould was still coming through. The water was lukewarm, which was actually fine given the hot weather. The plug point wasn’t close to the bed, which was a bit inconvenient. Any issues with the room were quickly sorted out. The family hosting the hostel were lovely and very welcoming.
