Lava Hostel

Lava Hostel is owned and run by the scout group of Hafnarfjörður. We offer a friendly atmosphere and low-price accommodations for groups. Our hostel is just a short walk from the town centre with cosy restaurants and cafes and free museums.

Hafnarfjordur is known as the Viking Centre and also the unofficial elf capital of Iceland. This charming seaside town with colourful houses is surrounded by endless lava fields and natural treasures. It is the third-largest town in Iceland with a great variety of attractions and activities to discover including kayaking and horseback riding tours in the lava fields.

If your mind is torn between city life and quiet nature, Lava Hostel is the place for you. It is a perfect base to explore Iceland as we are only 15 15-minute drive from Reykjavík and 30 min from Keflavík airport.

Lava Hostel Policy and Conditions:

Cancellation policy: 72h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, will incur a cancellation fee equal to the total cost of the stay. This will be charged to the method of payment advised at the time of booking. Any payment made for additional nights will be refunded.

Check out from 08:00 to 10:00 .
