About

Sjømannskirka hostel is a new hostel in the center of Narvik. Until 1997, this was a Swedish Seamen's Church. But when the church closed down in 1997, the building was taken over by a foundation and is today a cultural center with hostel, church and cafe.

This is a building with a 'soul' and now has 55 beds in dormitories and family rooms. The place is a meeting place for people from all over the world and we hope to see you as our guest! Welcome!

Sjømannskirken Narvik offers a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and comfortable beds featuring privacy curtains. Guests frequently praise the excellent included breakfast and the convenient central location. While generally clean, a few recent reviews mention occasional issues with kitchen cleanliness and a limited number of bathrooms. It's a great choice for solo travellers and couples seeking a relaxed stay.

Good, dependable hostel. The toilet/shower arrangements are a bit odd as boys and girls use same toilets up to men’s showers. Would be better if there were just a boys bathroom with showers and a girls bathroom with showers. Very convent to have the church/cafe as part of hostel. Good place to meet other interesting travellers. Staff nice and friendly. Good value for money and highly recommended.

Clean cosy bed with curtains and staff were helpful and friendly over the phone. The atmosphere for me was a little strange here - quiet and didn’t feel friendly. I didn’t like that the mixed toilets were only in spaces with male showers attached and also that the woman’s shower room didn’t have a lock and the changing area was communal. Also in the morning there was a man passed out outside the toilet cubicle with his trousers at his ankles - overall slightly off put by the atmosphere !

A sweet place and much more than just a hostel. It is a part of a complex including the Seamen's church, cafe, and a souvenir shop. The atmosphere is rather calm but depending on the season and the amount of other guests there is plenty of common area to socialize. The bed was extremely comfy, had curtains, and seemed somewhat wider than single beds normally. The breakfast was nice, especially considering the friendly price in Norwegian terms. The staff was helpful and friendly!
