Friendly personal and very good location, but the single room is just as big as the bed is. So it feels more like a prison than a hostel. Also in the shared bathroom you can more or less shower while sitting at the toilet. Everything else is ok.

A place to book if you need basic accommodations and that's it. Noisy at night as the radio was kept on throughout at the reception, since the hostel is small, I could hear it through my room even though I was at the farthest end of the hallway, so was probably louder in dorm rooms. Reception also charged me more than doubled from what I reserved from the site, claiming prices had doubled, even though I saw they were the same price as when I booked 2 months in advance. I was too tired to call them out, but wish there was more transparency about that beforehand. Receptionist didn't speak English, though I could luckily speak Arabic. Average cleanliness, very small private room. Fully stocked market, restaurants, and pharmacy nearby. Wifi connection was the best I've had in all the places I stayed in Cairo, but would not stay here again.

As a solo Egyptian traveler, I’ve booked multiple hotels through Booking.com, and unfortunately, many times I’ve been told that it is forbidden for Egyptian women traveling alone to stay in a hotel. I even contacted the Ministry of Tourism to report these hotels, but they said they couldn’t intervene because these hotels were not under their supervision. I still don’t understand how a hotel can operate without being licensed by the Ministry of Tourism. This hotel, however, was a lifesaver. I was terrified
