110 Checked in on a whim after missing an earlier bus connection, no reservation, and staff still managed to squeeze me into a bed within minutes. Common area had a small shelf of hiking gear available to borrow, jackets and headlamps included at no extra cost. Weather stayed dry and warm throughout, comfortable enough that the fan barely got used at night. Skipped Ijen this visit due to the tight schedule, staff mentioned it could easily be arranged again on short notice. A smooth, unplanned stop that work

Checked in right as a light rain started, staff waved me straight to a covered area instead of making me wait out front getting wet. Room stayed cool and dry despite the weather outside, decent insulation for a budget property. Joined the sunrise Ijen group the following morning, driver played local music the whole ride up which made the early hour feel less brutal. Came back to find breakfast still warm and waiting in the common area. Small comforts that added up nicely across a short but solid stay.

This hostel made Ijen feel achievable even for a couch potato like me. They provided proper hiking poles and headlamps with adjustable brightness. The trek was brutal but our guide kept morale high with fun facts about sulfur mining. Hostel design is open and airy, with beanbags and a small library of worn-out novels. Bunks have privacy curtains and USB ports. Staff are super responsive and helped us arrange a ferry to Bali after checkout. Chill vibes, pro service, no drama. Highly recommend.
