About

Grand Hostel Berat is a hostel about a 15 minute walk from Berat's old town and castle.

Every bed has its own privacy curtain, a reading light and power sockets, so you can pull the curtain, charge your phone and sleep without disturbing anyone. We have female only, male only and mixed dorms, plus a private double room.

Breakfast is free every morning. So are WiFi, parking, luggage storage and lockers. Towels and linen are included, not rented. Reception is open 24 hours, so you can check in any time after 13:00 and late arrivals are no problem.

Outside there is a big garden, a terrace and a BBQ where people end up sitting most evenings. Inside there is a bar, a cafe, a common room with board games and a smart TV, laundry facilities and a quiet coworking space if you need to get some work done. Air conditioning and hot showers throughout.

From here you can walk into Mangalem and Gorica, the two Ottoman quarters that made Berat a UNESCO World Heritage site, and up to Berat Castle. At reception we can help you book rafting in the Osumi canyon, day trips to Bogove waterfall and the Belsh lakes, wine tasting, and bike hire.

We only opened in 2026, so everything is still new. Most people stay two or three nights.

Wow, what an amazing place to stay!! So clean, modern and the best dorms I’ve ever stayed in. The host is so kind, her brother also dropped us to the bus station which was so so kind of him. Everything was great. It is a little far out of Berat centre but it’s worth the 15 minute walk for the great facilities!

Amazing stay at this hostel. Place was clean. Rooms were big with a getting ready area and the beds were huge with very comfy mattress. Bathrooms were really nice and good sized lockers. Run by the most lovely family. We ended up having dinner with the host and having a good chat. She gave us free glasses of her dad’s homemade wine and liqueur. A short, flat walk into the main town/bridge. Couldn’t recommend this hostel enough!
