Tomato Urban Retreat Ostello della gioventù is a sustainable hostel in Monti, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Rome, a short walk from Termini station and within walking distance of the Colosseum. It is run by Social Supply, a third-sector social cooperative.
Forty-six rooms — singles, doubles and quads, many with a private bathroom — with fast Wi-Fi, thermal and acoustic insulation and mechanical ventilation, so the air stays clean and filtered. Rooms are decorated with prints and artwork by local artists. Generous shared spaces open onto an inner garden, and there is a coworking space and a meeting room for anyone working while they travel, plus a café serving Italian breakfast, cakes and espresso.
The building runs without gas: eight high-efficiency heat pumps, solar thermal and photovoltaic with storage. Separate waste collection, tap water on draught instead of plastic, flow reducers on every tap.
Keyless entry at any hour, secure bike storage and a table tennis table.

Cancellation policy: free up to 48 hours before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check-out before 11:00 AM
Early check-in and late check-out are free, subject to availability - just ask on the day.
Card payments only (no cash). This property may pre-authorize your card before arrival.
No city tax is due: as a youth hostel we are exempt from the Rome city tax.

Children of all ages are welcome, including in shared dormitory beds. Children up to 3 years old stay free of charge in their parents' bed; from 4 years old they are counted as adults.
