About

Amazigh Hostel in the Algarve opened in August 2009 as the first hostel in the Southwest Alentejo Natural Park. Famous for its exuberant nature, deserted beaches, sunny skies and sublime fresh fish, it is an attractive place also for beginners and advanced surfers. The nearest beaches are Praia da Amoreira (7,5km), Praia do Monte Clérigo (8km) and Praia da Arrifana (9km).

Our Hostel is inserted in the Rota Vicentina and integrates the Fishermen's Trail, receiving pilgrims from all over the world. Its advantageous location in the heart of the historical center of Aljezur village, presents the differential of having all rooms (private and shared) with shower and toilet.

From surfers, to hikers, to cyclists, to nature lovers, you will find a wide range of travelers, who come here in search of unique experiences. This nomadic tradition is what gives the Hostel its name - AMAZIGH - or 'free people', which comes from the Berber people, indigenous to North Africa, known for their nomadic lifestyle.

Stayed here while hiking the fishermen’s trail. Great location and facilities! Beds didn’t have curtains but apart from that it was great.
