The Phoenix Bar & Hostel, housed in a homely English-style pub located between Hyde park and Regents park, the Phoenix is perfect located and walking distance to all main attractions, train stations, tubes being only 100+ yards away.

We are an award winning backpackers hostel. Operating for 13 years we take all of our guests safety and security seriously but we also know how to party! Enjoying a mixed entertainments program down at the bar, Comedy Night, Quiz nights.

Guests can check-in from 2pm on day of arrival (If arriving earlier, guests may leave their luggage in our holding room until check-in)

Check-out of rooms by 10AM

If you do not have these forms of ID, and wish to stay here, please contact us.

Guests can cancel their reservation up to 2 days before Check in date. After this date the full amount will be charged.
Payment is taken in full upon arrival, and is non-refundable should the guest wish to alter their booking after check in.

Rooms infested with bed bugs and suchlike vermin. I experienced dozens of bites - had little sleep, was given an antihistamine tablet the following morning and suggested to move bunks within the same dorm which was pointless as others had a, similar experience. Hostel looks run down and in need of a thorough "deep clean" & upgrade re quality & hygiene of toilet & shower facilities. Bunks : neither privacy curtauns, nor reading lights e.g. c/w charging points. Overall: worse than in mid 2024.

Upon arrival, host wasn't very welcoming and had me waiting at the front desk/bar for 5 minutes whilst he sorted out his rotas, seeing as I was pressed for time, immediately a bad start. Was told I couldn't have food in the room and when I got back from a shift id worked, I had to beg to sit in the social area to simply eat. 3 stack bed bunks, as a 6ft 2 person were near impossible to get into if you weren't on the top bunk.
