Bath YMCA has been rated a 4**** hostel by Visit England. We are a member of Bath Tourism Plus.
Our new rates reflect a standard room without breakfast during the week and a free light breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings which includes cereals, toast, jams, juice and yoghurt. Light breakfasts are available from March 2025 to October 2025.
The YMCA is centrally located, just a stone's throw away from all the major tourist attractions, tempting shops, sensational restaurants, Bath Rugby, pubs, clubs and award-winning parks. If you want to be in the middle of it, then the YMCA is the location for you.
The old Victorian building is at least 150 years old and overlooks the bustling Broad Street. It houses our dormitory accommodation for groups, backpackers and holiday makers. All guests have access to single sex bathroom facilities throughout the range of accommodation and all areas have secure access, ensuring your safety at all times.
We do have 4 ensuite rooms, there are separate male and female showers and toilets available on each floor.
All our single, double, twin, ensuite, triple, quad rooms and 5 bedrooms deliver a higher standard of hostel rooms in Bath. All our house rooms are accessible by a key fob.
Our dormitory rooms range from 8 beds to 18 beds.
Staff on the 24-hour reception are nearly all locals who know Bath inside out. We can help you plan your stay, organise and book tours or recommend a place to eat or visit. We will let you know what's on, where's in and what to avoid and what's unmissable in Bath.
Guests at the YMCA also benefit from access to our fantastic health and fitness centre, at a discounted rate, a great gym, a wicked range of classes for those of you who want to sweat, tone with the friendliest gym staff you are ever likely to meet. So, if you are travelling but want to maintain your fitness programme we're the place for you.
If you are travelling in a big group, we can also offer conference facilities/meeting rooms further catering etc - just ask and we will do our best to deliver!
We can accommodate over 200 people a night, so whether you are travelling alone or in a big group; old, young or with children - we have the bed for you.
We cannot accept stag groups and hen groups.
We do accept large groups but please book directly with us. A damage deposit is required for groups over 10 people.

We do have a self-catering area of the restaurant and provide a toasters, air fryer, hallogen hot plates, microwave, plates, cutlery and hot water when our restaurant is closed.
We do not have any Guest parking however we are surrounded by carparks
The hostel does not have a lift, if you have difficulty with stairs please let us know and we will ensure you are placed on the first floor or the room on the ground floor if available.

Tip! - Friday and Saturday nights are very popular - so always try to book in advance.

Another great reason to stay at the YMCA is that Bath YMCA is a registered charity (No: 1106370). Any surplus we make go directly back in to supporting the charity work we do with vulnerable young people in Bath and beyond.
Please note that guests under the age of 18 are not allowed unless accompanied by an adult.
You will be asked for ID when checking in - ID card, Passport, Driving Licence.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours by email.
For groups or bookings over 10 people made through Hostelworld, cancellations must be made at least a week prior to arrival by email
Telephone cancellations will not be accepted.
