Bath Backpackers is a vibrant, community based, independent hostel for travellers who would like to experience our gorgeous city in good company. Join other guests for walks, cultural events, dinners and parties, so you can connect with people, make friends and have a great time.

Free Wi-Fi, free tea and coffee, free towels, free earplugs (just in case!) and a well-equipped kitchen for you to use. Bath Backpackers offers budget accommodation for everyone over the age of 18. Bicycle storage and luggage storage are also available free of charge for our guests. We also have a laundry service.

Right in the city centre, the hostel is a 3 minutes' walk from the train station, the starting point of the skyline walk, the Roman Baths, the Abbey and the rugby stadium. It couldn't be better located!

We want our hostel to be inclusive and safe for everybody. We offer mixed dorms and female only dorms.
Unfortunately, like many Georgian buildings in Bath, our hostel isn't well-designed for people with physical disabilities.

Guests love the excellent central location, the well-equipped kitchen, and the cozy communal areas, especially 'The Vaults'. Great stay at 8 mixed room. Whole facility was super clean, staff were friendly and helpful, location is brilliant! Plenty space for reading and resting, and great kitchen with everything you would expect in the hostel. Thank you

Location was great, staff were super friendly, kitchen was large and clean, and the social events and communication were great! The only downside was that showers are in the basement, no AC, and the lockers are small (only big enough for valuables, not a whole backpack)

No complaints here. It is clean. There is a spacious kitchen and a space in the basement (called the vaults) where you can work remotely. Bath itself is a quiet city, and the hostel reflects that atmosphere. An event was planned there for 2/3 nights that I was there. I really liked the people that were there.

About Bath

Bath is the perfect getaway thanks to its rich Roman history, charming Georgian architecture and the numerous independent cafes that will make you want to stay here for more than just a couple of days! Probably most famous for its opulent and historic baths, the city is a photographer’s dream. It also has a thriving cultural scene with plenty of art, theatre, exhibitions, live music and don't miss the hillside views across the whole city.

One of the best things about the city is its compact size, which means all the hostels in Bath are in the city centre or in walking distance. All the hostels in Bath have amazing reviews so that you can pick the best Bath hostel for you and relax and share your evenings with other travellers after a day of wandering around! Bath hostels are also cheap compared to the other accommodation in the city.

If you want to immerse yourself in the history of the city, sleep on the doorstep of all the main museums and be a step away from the independent cafes for breakfast in the morning, a hostel in Bath city centre is the perfect choice. For a more chilled stay and the chance to immerse yourself in the green parks that surround the city, check out the hostels closer to the University of Bath.

The Roman Baths must be on top of your list and in the same main square, you will find the 18th century abbey, today a UNESCO World Heritage Site, free to visit. Pass by the canal and the impressive Weir before walking up the hill (there are lots of hills in Bath!) to the Royal Crescent: the iconic half-moon building set of 30 Georgian houses from where you will enjoy an amazing view of the city. For more amazing views climb Bathwick hill to start the beautiful skyline walk that takes in the surrounding countryside. If museums are your thing, try the Fashion Museum, Jane Austin Centre or even the Bath Postal museum.

The easiest way to get to Bath is by bus or train: Bath Spa train station is in the city centre and a 2-minute walking distance from the main drop-off point of the buses in Bath. Once you arrive, you can easily visit the city without the help of public transport. Just walk to discover all the hidden gems of this beautiful city!
