About

Our eco-friendly, cosy Cottage is surrounded by green fields with view to the Comeragh mountains and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still only 10 minutes’ drive away from Waterford City Centre and only 20 minutes drive to Tramore beach. The local village with Pubs (several!) and shops is within walking distance from the Cottage. Tom’s Alpaca Cottage is an ideal base to explore the South-East of Ireland and is the perfect place to relax during your travels in a friendly and comfortable environment. The small number of guests allows us to look after everyone individually and the manager, Tom, is a well-respected Irish Tour Guide with years of experience in looking after tourists visiting Ireland and is happy to give you tips for your travel journey. The Cottage is the perfect place to make a home from home whilst visiting Ireland on a budget.

Tom and Sonja are so lovely and helpful. I even got to meet the alpacas in the morning and they were the highlight of my stay. Highly recommend. Will be back again.

I was cycle touring and came across Tom's Alpaca Cottage almost by chance. I ended up staying twice for two nights. Tom is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The volunteers around were also great. I'd definitely recommend this place. As hostels go this is the opposite of a typical 'city hostel' - it's a friendly place.

My husband and I stayed here on our travels and we enjoyed our stay very much. Tom is incredible! He is so nice and always makes sure you have everything you need. We were lucky enough to be the only guests and Tom allowed us to choose which room we would like best to allow privacy. For a traveler without a car, it is 10km from the city center so just keep that in mind. If you do have a car, definitely add Tom’s cottage to your list and feel included in the small town culture. Thank you Tom!
