About

Achalay Hostel is not just a place to sleep.
It’s a home in the mountains, designed for travelers who value warmth, community, and genuine connection with nature.

Located right in the heart of Bariloche — only three blocks from the Civic Center and Lake Nahuel Huapi — we offer the perfect balance between downtown convenience and Patagonian soul.
We have private and shared rooms in a rustic-style house full of character, with wide common areas, a vibrant garden, and a coworking space for digital nomads who choose to travel without stopping their creative flow.

🌱 What makes Achalay unique?
Homemade breakfast, served at any time: scrambled eggs, fresh fruits, cereal, homemade bread and jams (Patagonian berries), dulce de leche, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and Argentine mate.

º Strong WiFi throughout the house, even in the garden.
º Good mattresses, 100% cotton high-thread-count sheets, and personal lockers.
º Fully equipped kitchen, chill-out living room, and open terrace to connect with other travelers.
º A warm and authentic atmosphere where staff and volunteers are also travelers, just like you.
º In-house tour booking and real recommendations based on local experience.
º A deep love for the mountains: if you’re here to hike, ski, or just breathe fresh air — we’ve got you covered.

🧭 Our Philosophy
We believe a hostel is more than a bed — it’s a human experience.
We want you to feel at home, whether you’re arriving solo, fresh from the trail, or just in need of a kind and cozy place to land.
Our goal isn’t to be the biggest hostel in Bariloche — it’s to be the most honest, friendly and real.

📌 Good to Know
º Reception open from 8:00 a.m. to midnight – please let us know if you’re arriving late
º Coworking area available
º Laundry service, lockers, full kitchen
º Discounts available for longer stays or groups
º Breakfast is always included in your booking

Achalay is family. For the solo traveler, the hiker, the skier, the remote worker, or anyone just looking for good people and good energy.
If you’re heading into the mountains or coming back from them — this is your home in Bariloche.

Would stay again, brilliant staff and an incredibly social buzz about the place. The regular asado/pizza nights are great fun.

Amazing staff/volunteers. Nice events too with pizza and karaoke. Pablo was amazing to get info from about local hikes. Stayed two different times at the hostel ! Highly recommend to stay here when in Bariloche.
